I already addressed this earlier. We don't have to offer him a new contract either by that logic. We would do it to keep a great player happy to be here rather than one sulking through the season with one foot out the door.

For £150m rather than £120m.

How's it rather than 120mill ? what if they want the release clause at 130mill ? What if he has a better seaaon than last and market value goes North of 150mill ?

If he's training alone after being sent home from Glasgow, that would suggest Howe doesn't see Isak remaining at this club. Just praying his move is not to a breakaway club.

Some clutching a straws here like. If he's training alone, I doubt he'll be on that flight.

Well we'll know soon enough. Thank fuck too because this whole saga is exhausting

I was just giving my reasoning. You could argue loads of different scenarios if you use different figures. I felt a release clause of £150m was reasonable.

I'm not even contemplating him going it's just too depressing to think about.

I’ve had the same thoughts before. But IF it was to happen next summer then so be it. We can reinvest massively and improve on the whole instead. Rather it doesn’t happen though…

At least next Summer hopefully we can prepare for his exit- some succession planning. This Summer would just decimate our coming season.

Really think losing him because we aren't allowed to give him money we fucking have because that would be unfair while five clubs spend 1 billion every year is going to really test my loyalty to this fucking sport.

Starting to get worried now. Was in denial phase (and still am to a certain extent) but him going to Liverpool could be a distinct possibility. Would be the most sickening transfer in recent years (Cole, Carroll); possibly worse as Isak is reaching his prime and potentially ‘European legend’ years and also because it’s Liverpool.

Isak could still get on the flight to Singapore but he’ll be located closer to the Liverpool squad who are playing in Hong Kong.

Isak cannot be sold to Liverpool. It’s in the best interests us and of anyone chasing the title or champs league over the next few years.

I've convinced myself he's going, so it won't hurt as much if he does, but as you say please not to LFC.

I’m usually positive but training alone ffs, writing seems to be on the wall. Trying to get my head around him leaving and looking on the bright side. It’s not even that, it’s that it’s fucking Liverpool

So let's entertain Isak going now for 130m do we just plow it all into 90m for sesko?

Probably take 3 transfer windows to sort a deal of that size out. By which time he'll be at Arsenal and worth 160 mil.

Same. If we're forced to sell our best players for whatever reason then what's the point. We're never going to be able to compete with the top 6. We scout players for months, put in a bid in, agree terms then so dickhead club with more money offer better wages. Tossers

I am surprised he's not been subject to bids from any clubs - not that I am aware of anyway

Liverpool getting both Isak and Ekitike for combined 200 million pounds while we flail about trying to limbo under some arbitrary PSR line would be emblematic of the PL's complete failure to be a functioning, competitive sports league.
