I would say the very justifiable anger apart from the obvious is rarely do you develop one of the worlds best, get CL twice, win a cup and finish 5,7,5 and be forced to sell your star who went on strike after a historic season. Feels like this is some wild occurrence that can only happen to us.

Not seen a situation like this in English football in quite some time and rarely in the major European leagues. Can only think Van Persie, Figo, and Higuan for strikers doing this, Sterling to City was more about the potential as he was 20. This has that unprecedented feel to it - I’d hope somehow and someway this goes the Kane, Gerrard, Suarez way and for some when they move on it’s abroad.

Nah, fuck that

It’s like saying you had a couple of good years with your lass and it ended a little messy because she was doing the nasty with her gym instructor down St Mary’s Lighthouse car park whilst you were at home being a good dad putting the kids in their jarmies and reading Julia Donaldson books for their bedtime stories

He’s acted like a cunt when he could have acted like a gentleman

Fuck him and everything he stands for

Very poor move if we use Sesko to justify selling Isak to Liverpool. We should be playing hardball with them and not selling him this summer at all. Especially not for under our valuation.

Better than selling him with no replacement obviously, but still a weak move.

Would people still be sad if we sold Isak and used the money(PSR headroom) to buy Sesko, Wissa, Paqueta and Guehi? Or someone of similar quality.

Would love the look of our squad if we did that.

Nah if we got all those I'd be buzzing.

If we sold to Liverpool then I wouldn't be happy. But I understand why people would like that trade.

I think most including myself would be pretty happy with that. Unfortunately Isak ending up at Liverpool has an inevitability about it. Player power thesedays

Seeing as I went into this summer expecting us to sign a striker, a midfielder and a defender without selling Isak, no that wouldn't make me feel any better.

I would change my mind if Sesko/Wissa hit the ground running obviously, but until then...

If our transfer policy was better and it did not take weeks to fuck up each deal, I would not mind Isak going now. We won't invest that money this window.

I am in the camp that if they can resolve their differences, let's other take that off the table.  We all make mistakes.

But surely not of those qualities?

We have also already got in Elanga and Ramsdale.

Looks like we’re spending it on Sesko, no? Otherwise he won’t be sold. Not that I like selling him to Liverpool but that seems to be what the club is planning.

I trusted our scouting team to identify very good players, not necessarily those particular players.

We'll see how I feel if we actually do sign those players (or similar) but I'm not convinced as it stands.

Bit hard to "extract maximum value" if you're basically announcing that he must be sold.

What's to stop Liverpool now lowballing us even more?

Us not accepting I guess. I think Liverpool are desperate to get him.

Sorry I meant more for the broader PSR benefit and adding to the squad but I get your point.

We must have said we will only talk if we have a replacement, because it's a lot of money to shell out otherwise, when they could just say we are no longer interested.

I’d be delighted with this tbh. As I would if the midfielder was Gallagher. The squad would be significantly stronger. I’m not sure I’d trust us to get that much work done though.

I think the club will want to make a big statement if we were to let go of Isak. If that gets more important than trying to get the best deals possible things can happen fast.

A 3 year contract?

If Isak is sold but we do bring in a different type.of midfielder and a CB alongside Sesko and Wissa it will be the first time we've had depth but also a balanced squad. I love Joelinton but it would be good for certain games to have someone with a bit more creativity for low blocks but also not to run everyone into the ground.
