Worked very well for Guehi ……he kept his reputation if not enhanced it………..

If his aim was to enhance his reputation you may have a point, but my recollection was that he was wanting to move clubs for more money by which metric it hasn't worked very well for him at all because he's still stuck at palace on the same money.

Pure speculation but I wonder how much the burglary of his and other players houses has affected his happiness here? (not that it would be better in Liverpool!)

Would be ridiculous if so. You're a rich person that leaves home a lot, you could burgled anywhere.

If he hadn't downed tools, I think he would have been on that flight. The transfer could still go ahead. Isak would just fly back.

I’d mentioned this earlier in the thread, that if he had a genuine muscle injury he wouldn’t have been advised to do 2 long haul flights. There are no quotes from Isak and the media are on a disruptive wank fest of Isak to Liverpool, replacing their wank fest over Isak to the Arse. Is this not all just click bait frenzy :D We get our new CEO/SD in soon and Isak signs a new contract and we sell next year as a lot of us had excepted is more the likely.  Are we not chicken licken with his “piece of sky”.

I am aware we are cash rich and psr poor and dont need to worry about an overspend until the end of the psr cycle.

However for argument sake IF we sign wissa and sesko and keep isak and then isak doesn't go, has a bad season or Liverpool pivot and no one else buys him or his value plummets then yes it would cause a massive issue.

I would rather him gone cash in pocket and sign someone. No one wants a random and reluctant sale if we over commit now. Which then circles back to my issue if its liverpool and they need 1 or 2 away first we are only 3 weeks out from the opening of the season and isak isn't even training yet to build up fitness and sharpness.

Doesn't exactly give you the tools to succeed.

Would it cause a massive issue?

Before this kicked off we publicly tried to sign both Ekitike and Trafford which would've had a combined fee north of 100 million.  There are also credible links to centrebacks on top of that.  We have plenty of wriggle room under PSR this season with or without an Isak sized sale.

We want wissa and seemingly need to pay more than what they wanted to get him. We need a RCB and a midfielder still a keeper seems to have been on howes wishlist too. We dont know how the money would have to have been distributed. The budget is obviously never revealed but reports of players in various positions at various prices has been mentioned more than once.

So that to me says over spend in one area you buy cheaper elsewhere.

The other issue even if we can  afford sesko (keep saying sesko but you kno what I mean a 60/80m "top striker target") does he come if isak is still here and his game time is limited in a world cup year? I assume part of the appeal to some of these strikers will be that you will be our main man can't guarantee that while isak is still here.

Also, burgled by people not from Newcastle.

If we sign Sesko and Wissa, personally I would put Isak on the subs bench and let him stew for the season.

That would suit his groin/thighs more. What a super sub luxury against tired defenders.

I don't think Yasir will let Isak leave unless it's on the club's terms - someone in his position doesn't strike me as the type who will dictated to by agents and rival clubs, or let it appear that way

maybe Liverpool will end up regretting this when they try to sell Salah next year

Nah, Saudis will be all over Salah regardless.

Man Utd won things despite Cole, not because of him.  We got Shearer 18 months later.  I’ve never regretted Cole leaving

Disagree with that mind, and I'd bet that most Man U fans do too. Cole was a massive success for them after a sticky first 5 months.

I was gutted he left and to this day think he was underrated as a player.

I agree with one of the callers - we really should get Al-Hilal to buy Isak then loan him back.  No different to what Chelsea are doing.  Man I would love for that to happen as it would blow PSR wide open.  It needs something like this to show how ludicrous these rules are. Sadly I feel PIF are not bold enough and just seem happy toeing the party line.

And you know this do you?  It's all about money. We pay him enough of course he'll play.

He doesn’t strike me as someone who cares too much what goes on here tbh.

While I think there is zero chance of that happening, Chelsea would absolutely do it if they were in our shoes.

Yes, we know this he said. He wants to explore other options.

I'm sure if your wife told you she wished to explore other willies you get the message. ( No offence intended).

Doesn't mean if we came offering him £300k he wouldn't take it - hell if Al-Hilal bought him they could off him £1.5mil a week - similar to what Benzema gets.

Our squad cohesion has probably been a great benefit to our limited squad. Having Isak around would be toxic. The fucker has made it clear he want to play for Liverpool and is done with us.

Based on what? I am not condoning his behaviour but I very much doubt if he decided to stay the players wouldn't welcome him with open arms.
