Alexander Isak: has a chance to play against Everton (Howe)

Recommended Posts

The Arsenal imbeciles are off their heads - he’s going to a far bigger team than those tossers if he ever goes!

Real Madrid, Barca or Liverpool ( ugh) if he ever moves on which hopefully he never does!

I think if/when he leaves us it might well be to Real Madrid

Arda Guler and £100 million.

And we'll maybe start to consider contemplating the possibility of entertaining the idea of any further discussions.

Do these people understand we have absolutely no need to sell. One of them laughed at 150m but why on earth would we sell for less?

The media are totally delusional.

This summer we don’t but if he doesn’t sign a new contract we’ll have to next summer

They don't seem to understand £115 million was paid for Caicedo, which is the current Premier League record.

And so that is the starting point for any discussion. If Caicedo cost that much, what on Earth do they think the best all around striker in the league will cost?!

He absolutely should cost AT LEAST £150 million, if we're talking about a move this summer.

Only way to get him at a 'reasonable' price is when his contract is nearly up. At the moment I don't think he's affordable for anyone.

Maybe if he went on strike and demanded a move or something, but I can't see that.

Flip it round. If he was Arsenal's would they sell him for £150m?

Fat chance. They would say "no we have the best striker in the world why would we sell for any price"

Personally, I'm just gutted Amanda put us in the shit with PSR when we signed this guy. I'm troubled that our scouting methodology even put him on the table as an option to buy.

So Arsenal fans saying they should get £130 million for Saliba if he goes Real Madrid. But Isak - probably the best striker in the world right now - is only worth £100 million according to them. No wonder they are so disliked.

Barca reportedly agreeing a pre contract with Jonathan David as their summer replacement for Lewa.

Madrid have Mbappe.

Bidding clubs are either English or its PSG. Or a mega money Saudi bid.

Where Alex's head is at is the important thing. He's still young, still developing and under Eddie he's flourished into the best striker in Europe.

If we make top 5 and/or win a cup, my feeling is he stays at least another season.

Add to that we can progress the squad (finally) in the summer. We should have unveiled our stadium plans by then too. We're the club on the up - whatever anyone else (in the media or other clubs fanbases) wants to report/believe.

Pogba, Antony, Sancho, Enzo, Lukau, Maguire, all north of 85, million doubt Nunez is far off that either.

I think the only way we are selling him is if he wants to go i.e. he's going to want to be playing in the CL so I think key to keeping him here is us qualifying

Yeah if we don't win anything, finish outside the top 5. It's quite possible he won't sign a new deal (we can't really break our wage structure and pay £300k etc that other teams can offer) and then we would be looking at a potential sale the following summer.

But that's worst case scenario and let's hope we have a strong end to the season and can continue to build around him.

Hopefully retirement is his next stop after another 10 years at Newcastle.

Fuck that, he needs to do a couple of seasons back at AIK before he retires.

Genuinely think nine figure sums are a thing of the past in the PSR age. Plus the Chelsea factor undermines Enzo/Caicedo being any sort of benchmark.

There's no market for an Isak that is settled at a Europe-competing NUFC. We can comfortably say "obscene price or fuck off" in that scenario. And no one can pay that.

Ergo, if he leaves, it's because he wants to, and we've been forced to accept a more 'competitive' price. (i.e something between what Nunez and Lukaku cost).

It all hinges on the player in this case imo. I don't see why he'd want to leave, incidentally. He's got it good here.
