Could be the fact that we've been unable to properly rotate or rest him during those periods when he didn't look quite right over the last two seasons catching up on him.

Assuming he stays, we need someone with far better availability than Wilson (along with Osula) to help keep him fresh.

Transfer window “injury” likely to stop him travelling to Asia with the team…

I love him, but he's not the most durable. Can see why we're prioritising another forward.

Surely even if he's injured he travels though? It's not a very good excuse, if they needed one.

Just have a feeling he’ll eventually go to Barca to replace Lewandowski or potentially go to PSG.

I don't think you know how bad Barca's finances are. Couldn't afford Williams or Diaz. Going for Rashford for free. Just finished paying off Messi etc. They still owe Ter Stegen around €40m and they've signed his replacement. They can't afford Isak. City and Real don't need a CF. Outside of PL, not many European clubs can afford him. PSG one of the exceptions.

Next, Isak needs surgery due to his groin.

There was talk of him going for surgery this summer towards the end of last season. Obviously they decided it wasn’t needed in the end, but who knows.

I’m saying it now, I won’t be surprised if the ‘rest’ hasn’t really sorted out his groin when he should’ve had surgery, and that’s why we’ve been bidding for top end strikers.

Really think losing him because we aren't allowed to give him money we fucking have because that would be unfair while five clubs spend 1 billion every year is going to really test my loyalty to this fucking sport.

Not only understandable but rational.

Being an american sports fan and watching this bullshit is beyond infuriating.

European sports felt nuts fifteen years ago from a US sports fan perspective when they were just letting the big clubs spend whatever the hell they want without any regard for parity or sustainability.

And somehow they went and made it even worse.

I’m so thankfully I saw Newcastle win a cup in my lifetime because if it’s going the way it is I’ll likely walk away completely within the next 5 years. It’s a 20 team league in standings but a 6 team league in reality and it’s killing the English game
