Considering any club with a realistic chance of signing him has either already singed someone or doesn't need him, the timing of this is really weird.

Could be his agent pushing for more wages?

One of the best strikers in the world is inevitably going to want one of the best strikers in the world money, don't think you can really blame him tbf.

Is ways of going about it though , going on strike is basically a cunts trick .

Blind optimism that man. He’s away.

Nah.  He has 3 years left on his deal and most of his biggest suitors have shot their load on strikers already.

This has ‘give us one more year and we’ll let you go’ all over it. Better terms on a new deal.  Decent release clause. Everyone is happy enough. The problem is we should’ve been sorted out this type of deal.

If he was so eager to leave he would’ve given stronger indication in May/June not the end of July.

Hopefully it's the push I need to stop watching this bin fire of a sport.

If he goes to Liverpool I’m out. Signifies everything that’s wrong with the game & premier league

Probably not.

Let’s just test the market with him. If he wants to go, he goes for a whopper of a price and on our terms. Preferably not to those fuckin cretins.

That article is pretty much the club confirming that we're ready to sell for £150 million.

Lets see who steps up to the plate. It would be a massive fee and that's down to how well Isak has done.

Will be immensely awful if he stays in the Premier league though, and so hopefully that can be avoided.

Well, PSR/FFP wins again.

As part of trying to play catch up, I guess we had to fear one of the 'Purples' going at some point.

If he does go though, we must get top price for him, what he's worth to us, not what anyone else thinks.

I didn't think we'd be able to grow within the box the PL built around us quick enough to pay him what his talent is worth. Especially since we're dedicated to not breaking the fucking box.

Exactly and it's fucking ridiculous

When I take my own emotions out of it and look at it from all sides, you can't really blame him. We talk a good game in wanting to progress and win more trophies, but what signals do players like Isak get currently? We can't land a transfer, we spend ages talking to players and agents, but land chuff all. Maybe he does want to play for a club that shows ambition, can land major trophies and can compete at the very top.

Some of you need to catch on. Obviously he’s been made aware Liverpool are still in for him despite signing Ekitike. And obviously he wants to go to Liverpool. We’ll try and force as much as possible out of them but he’s gone.

He can do that here - also there are ways of doing it.  Utter shite spitting your dummy out 5 mins before the transfer window ends and leaving the club in disarray.  I think Eddie deserves better - his career was going nowhere before Eddie revived it.  None of the big clubs were willing to take the risk.  He can wait one more year - do it properly and give the club the 'time' to find a replacement.

Sorry if I wasnt clear, i purely mean in terms of market inflation. I think they were 35, 40 and 60 million give or take, but with inflation you get to 60 million for bruno straight away.

I get inflation isnt linear, but as a rough guess I reckon im not far off their adjusted cost

Dunno like. Look at the prices Gravenberch and Merino went for.

Whatever the case every fucking suit above Eddie Howe needs absolute pelters for not either sorting his contract or pushing all the chips out to get a proper successor in. Fucking idiots man. All of them.

no mention of a source or anything in Hope’s article. Not even like “a club insider informed us” or anything, just “we can reveal”.

shit journalism either way

It's obviously come from the club. Someone that close to the club doesn't need to say that.
