Still don’t get on board with the Isak bashing when there’s been ZERO sources linked to Isak saying he wants out, refusing to play etc.

All it’s been is Howe saying he’s had a niggle, resting, wants to keep him (as with any linked player he wants to them to stay) and that’s it. People then have ran with stories based on the principle he wants out, because that is one of the many options that’s plausible until said otherwise.

I'll have some of that copium mate.

Thanks

Not now he isn’t by the sounds of it

We’ve had plenty of time - I’ve experienced in my day job, you get a job offer, inform your current employer you’re taking it and they suddenly offer you better terms.

My response is: go fuck yourselves, you should’ve paid me that in the first place

No reason Isak should be any different

The blame lies squarely with the club’s senior management and our absentee landlords

He wasn't worthy of a new contract last summer but after the season he has just had, amid all of the transfer speculation, the first thing that should have happened when the last ball was kicked in May was a new contract being offered to him. By not doing so they've allowed him to be unsettled and the rest is now history.

The club are being given some savage lessons in the cut-throat world of football right now.

Howe’s comments and missing trips through a niggle isn’t exactly building confidence that you’re right - experience in football tells us a rabbit is off.  You don’t risk or take footballers away who you’re about to sell

Tell him he can't go this summer, offer him a big payrise with a £150m release clause for next summer and an additional year extension. If only it were FM.

If it were FM I'd shift him for 150 to Liverpool and lower his potential to Sunday League.

The same Howe that's always been super reliable in his press conferences?

Some fans on here and in general are  deluded, a huge club like Liverpool are after a striker and can likely double his wages, he's seeing lads at Chelsea and Man utd earn far more money who couldn't lace his boots...

Whether it's Isak Tonali or any squad player they'd do the same thing..

Be the same fans who booed Cabaye no doubt...

Nothing wrong with someone exploring options. If he gets an offer from someone that is better than we can/want to offer, they offer us a fee we are willing to accept and he wants to leave then good bye, good luck and thanks for the good times.

With how the last few windows have gone, until the rules changes, it almost feels necessary to make a huge, albeit unpopular, sale in order to have the leeway within psr for us to be able to spend what is required to take the next step.

I’m already getting excited about how we try and fail to spend the £150m.

 Spend five years trying to sign Wissa, then just play Willock up front.

Al Hilal - I'd want £150m PLUS Ruben Neves, or £200m without Neves

PSG - Ramos or Muani or Barcola or Donnarumma or Kang-in Lee plus £100m
Liverpool - you can't have him at all - no deal.

Barcelona probably can't afford him
Real Madrid don't need him

70M plus Harry Kane.

Kane plus the two fastest wingers in the league would (still) be lethal.

Not for UEFA it didn't, it got marked down and we're at risk of breaching this season (only a fine, though)

I don't think that's true at all.  Happy to be proved wrong if you have a source though

 Man, he's been totally left out of our preseason so far and all the journos are saying he wants out. No smoke without fire and all that. If he was on the plane to Asia I'd agree with you but he isn't .

Maybe no chance he'd go to Saudi. But we could use any interest to drive up the price and the wages to anyone else IF he goes.

That new contract decision was a farce. Reports that it was Mitchell, but also at least one suggesting it was Isak's agent who pulled talks. From Martin Hardy mind.

Who else is realistically gonna offer £130-150m for him?

If these stories are true it's fuck him, and it's fuck him because he's basically ensured we have to settle for what Liverpool are willing to pay as opposed to actually getting his value.

He's basically fucked us.

Why do people keep saying this?

They spent nothing last year, they generate huge revenues

They can easily make a decent amount of money from selling Nunez, Elliott and even players like Morton they'd get around £20m for

Liverpool absolutely can afford Isak, just got to hope the club make it clear selling to another Premier League club is simply out of the question

Because they also need other players, and this would mean spending over 500 million pounds. That money is loaned, they dont have it.
