Wouldn't be surprised if he would be less injured elsewhere. We demand a lot from our striker. Obviously the top clubs would be able to sub him out when necessary aswell. Doesn't change the fact that his injuries were a problem for us at times, mind.

Slot seems to play the same 11 roughly every game. So he'll get no rest there.

I'd like to see him regurgitate word for word the nonsense Klopp was spewing about having a ceiling.

Does he? Or did he just not fancy the players he inherited?

My opinion is our priority now should be to maximise the fee. He’s behaved poorly imo and there’s no way back.

sell him for as much as we can, quickly , and crack on.

we’ll be back here next summer otherwise.

Should have just sold him to Liverpool in hindsight, signed Ekitike and Wissa and still have money spare

In hindsight yeah probably. Fuck me how week do we look as a club if Liverpool end up with both

Some of you have completely lost your heads.

Consider the meltdown in the transfer thread - Isak probably has a similar view regarding the summer business. Show him the club can compete by acting in the transfer market, give him a better contract and provide an exit clause and this can be sorted sensibly.

Or get him to sign for a year on much better money and sell him next year for a release of £150 million. He is still contracted to us after all.

The logical part of me thinks selling someone for £150m who started/ended last season a little shaky + is always on the verge of a thigh strain makes smart business sense.

But Liverpool? Please no. Not Liverpool.

I think that'd end football for me because I don't want to ever see him again, never mind every week.

Was it not widely speculated that Isak was their first choice target and they’d move on to Ekitike if we didn’t play ball?

Or do we not believe that?

I see what you mean.

If Liverpool want both they'll get both imo. The cartel has the market under lock and key.

They might sub him when he runs out of gas at the end of games. We couldn't, even when he was near useless at the end.

Aye, I don’t disagree.

I hope we tell Liverpool to get fucked and very much encourage the Saudi interest.

He had the chance to be a legend here and even leave fairly amicable if he went next year when we had time to be more prepared for it and allow the club to get best value and ideally sell him abroad to like PSG or someone else.

But the timing of doing it now just leaves a horrible sour taste and will mean he's not remembered as fondly as he would have been and worse, could be hated if he does go to Liverpool for a cut price deal because he forced the move and everyone has to see him every week.

That Liverpool game is going to be an absolute bear pit when Isak and Ekitike are up front for those cunts

Isak won’t be match fit he’s getting 2 pre season games max

Ekitike at £80m isn't that obviously fantastic deal like. There are other strikers out there.

Relax, it's all a work. Think about it; Liverpool and Chelsea keep signing out targets so it makes sense to have them focus on Isak for the rest of the window to give us a chance to actually sign some players. Plus, all of this "I don't wanna play second fiddle to Isak" bullshit disappears too.

I don't think I could bring myself to hate him, but would leave a sour taste I agree. He could do with remembering that no other club wanted to gamble on him when he had scored 6 or so goals in La Liga the previous season, where were Liverpool then?

Obviously we all know that football is a selfish sport and you don't get to the top without having an element of that about you, but if it's true that he's stropped to force a move, that's extremely disappointing tbh.

Feel like people have thin skin on this. Over in the land of the free it’s exceptionally common for athletes to be pretty brazen in their attempts to get more money. I think Isak wants what’s best for Isak, and that could still well be NUFC, as long as we’re willing to pay him the no doubt astronomical salary he wants. I don’t think this is a “Isak ONLY wanted Liverpool” situation, I think it’s just him looking out for number one.

But the rumours today are he won't entertain a new contract from us. That's getting people's backs up
