Aye what exactly are people achieving pretending to be an nufc fan whilst pushing a pro-lfc rhetoric?

Go and circle-jerk isak on RAWK if you can't at least be up front man[emoji38]

I actually think £150m is a low figure tbh. Was surprised when that figure got bandied about.

He's an absolute unicorn of a player who is proven at the very highest level in a position that is becoming increasingly sparse in quality.

You pay double for being premier league proven, then you pay a premium on top of that for how rare a player they are.

Isak is about as rare as it gets.

They gave ASM away.

Based soley on what he's done since leaving we got a decent fee...

Makes no odds, he was worth more than what we sold him for at the time.

Liverpool seems to have tried to help us by asking for Isak first and not bidding on Ettike.

We probably should have not gone against them as this is what happens when you mess we ith truly great legacy teams.

I hope this post is tongue in cheek mate 🙂

I know transfer fees don’t work like this and it’s a bit reductive. But Rice for £105m or whatever it was. Enzo and Caicedo around £100m. Both a couple of seasons back, weren’t they? Prices are still going up, no?! Even if the market seems less active and clubs are restricted more because of PSR.

It does then feel like Isak with 3 years left on his deal. Should be going for more than £130-140m. Even if he wants out.

It’s only really his fitness record that can be questioned. But then I also think some of that is down to our managing of him and not having a back up who is fit for most of his time here.

As others have said. There are intangibles with him and stuff that won’t appear on any stats sheet. He just has that swagger and unpredictability to his game that has regularly caused world class centre backs to look like Sunday league players.

Isak being flown to Saudi Arabia to face Yasir. Anyone else heard anything?

That seems counter productive given Yasir is apparently in the UK currently.

Can't take people seriously when their arguments are this fallacious. If ASM was sold on the cheap we would have had higher offers from other clubs around the world. We didn't even get any close to what the Saudis offered, otherwise he would probably have stayed in Europe.

Appreciate it's "easy to say now" but I've never been attached to Isak in the same way I am Schar, Bruno, Murphy, Big Joe, ASM or Tonali etc.

He's given us some great goals and given us some moments I'm incredibly thankful for, but I've never felt the same 'connection'. Gordon is another.

Perhaps a little harsh, but forums are for opinions no matter how controversial [emoji38]

Same, there's a sense of needing to show our ambition to keep them with some players that others don't have as much. Botman is another. I don't mind it tbh, because I have that ambition too and it comes with the territory, but it does make you keep them a bit more at arm's length for when the club fails to match it and this happens.

Im the complete opposite. He was the man. This whole thing has knocked me cold. Genuinely shocked how little he actually gave a shit to be here. Fuck him. If he goes to Liverpool I’ll despise him

Think that's the same for most fans tbh, he doesn't wear his heart on his sleeve like say Bruno does. He's a cold mofo but I think that's what makes him so clinical as a striker so I can live with it.

Ah man, absolutely horrible when this happens.

For those that know me a little, when I came up to the Newcastle Online league cup final watch party, I said if we won I'd get a shirt with the game winner on the back.

When we won, I couldn't bring myself to get one with Isak printed, so went with BDB.

Glad I made that call now...

You're probably right TRon. Good observation [emoji38]

But then again, I loved Mitrovic...
