Christ alive.

I can't see him speaking publicly until his future is sorted definitively. If by some crazy turn of events he ends up staying here I can't even imagine how he'll walk any of this back. I never thought he had this in him tbh.

By being awkward he's trying to drive the price down but that's a bit daft with 3 years left. He's essentially breaching his contract and we should be asking more and more as a result. He and his advisors have manufactured this entire situation and there's no reason whatsoever why Newcastle United should suffer financially because of it. They're playing daft cunts, they're the ones breaching the contract he signed and they're the ones who've caused this so they're the ones who should lose out.

There's a right way and a wrong way to go about getting a move away and Isak has broken every single rule in the book by going about it the way he has

Regardless he should be training with the first team

He’s not injured , scan all clear

He’s checked out , not interested and wants more money

Same as 99% of footballers , no loyalty and treats it as a  job

Try not to get too attached, Bruno and Joelinton srem to get it , they appear to love the club and area.

The more players we can get/sign ….. that have that special connection the better

I think that’s why we struggle with transfers as Eddie wants 100% commitment , in this day and age it’s a rarity

Football is a strange thing, loyalty is virtually non existent

I think reality is football really is a business now, FFP has actually made it worse as well.

It's not just players it's the clubs too, just look at new ticketing systems, the working class game is now all about branding and merchandise.

Sadly if the wages at Newcastle are where they are don't be surprised If someone like Tonali is next. Do I agree with isak refusing to go to Singapore if true ..yes of course. However when you have numerous players on double what Isak on with far less ability then it'll be the norm moving forward now

OK - Assuming he is being a compete cunt about this - we own him for 3 more years - his sale does not dictate our current transfers - make an example of him - rot in the reserves (Man in Iron Mask stylee) for 3 years - and get kicked to fuck and see who wants you then. Meanwhile we grow and improve without the duplicitous fucker and he serves as a warning to all footballers - lol /s.

Yeah I dont think fake it until you make it works in football.

And its not like om saying we should let players go everytime a bigger club comes along. But when they are willing to feign an injury to get their way I dont want them here. I just hope and think that thats not the case for most of our players.

It’s not faking it.

He can come back in, play for a year, or go home on gardening leave. Sweden will need him for the World Cup qualifiers this year, hows he going to cope if he’s not match fit? What happens if they make it to the World Cup and he’s sat out all year?

What happens when he’s burnt his bridges and he’s not getting selected for the Euro’s qualifiers.

Fact is if we sent him home, told him to put up and shut up, once the transfer window is closed and he’s not even at the training ground, he’ll realise.

If he doesn’t then just play it out, either way he’ll end up a shadow of the player he was, and his agent will go down in history as being the guy who ruined the career of possibly the best forward in Europe.

Even after a year, even if Liverpool come back, they are not offering him the same money after not playing for a year.

Players and agents think they hold all the cards, play their bluff.

Time to start fining him and telling Liverpool £200m or we don't even answer the phone. We have to start flexing some muscle and show we're not to be messed with, send him to Saudi for his 10 lashes.

We value him at £200m we'll sell him for £130m. But we'll see him in court for the other £70m in damages he's caused us.

Quite happy to see the cunts career ruined now. Scorched earth. No way do I want him here, he's scum.

Simon Jordan made a decent point yesterday about this, in that the PFA should step in if a player fails his obligations under his contract, in the same way they'd be straight after a club that didn't treat a player right, or didn't pay them.

Now he may or may not be injured, but by refusing to travel with the squad, injured or not, on a tour with tons of publicity for the club, with meet and greets and stuff, he's not doing part of what he's paid for, AND, we will still be paying him while he goes on like this.

He has a point, really. Players happy to down tools to try and force a move, but if clubs tried to stop paying them, the PFA would be all over it.

In one of the recent press conferences Howe said something like “I only wish all options were still on the table” - not aware that any reporters followed up by asking which option(s) were not, even though he would have probably said that he could not answer. He usually makes these sort of comments for a reason.

The PFA is a labor union for the players  it would be a breach of their duties to their members if they took the club's side in something like this, no matter how unreasonable the player is being.

I'd get on the blower to psg and offer isak to them for there Portuguese striker ramos plus money.

Then our striker position would be sorted.

My gut feeling with this whole thing is that nothing will happen. He won't play for us until after the September International break, probably as a sub in our first Champions League game somewhere daft. He'll go through the motions until January and then the circus will start again.

This prick and his agent are forgetting how contracts work.

If he turned out shite after the contract was signed, we would have absolutely no right to bin him off and get him off the wage bill, similar to the Isaac Hayden situation.

Unfortunately for him, he signed a contract that he is legally obliged to follow, toys out the pram or not. He needs to bin off, or at least get his agent out of Romano’s arse, and get his fucking head down. He’s got a contractual duty to Newcastle United.

If he’s here after this window closes you can be sure he doesn’t leave in January unless someone massively overpays close to a £200m figure

What a shit show. Eddie Howe is going to have to pull off a masterclass in man management to reintegrate Isak back into the squad.

My concern would be that Isak will pick up a few more mysterious muscle strains this season if he's completely checked-out mentally.

Imagine being miserable and going on strike because you're earning only 120k a week. These footballers have completely lost touch with reality, makes me fall out of love with this game tbh

I just find the timing of the whole thing makes little sense. Liverpool have signed Ekitike, most other clubs have blown their load by this point, we're more hard-pressed than ever to find a replacement as the market's contracted...why didn't he do this at the start of the window, particularly if he decided this would be his last season well in advance?

I'm not sure if he's actually refused to train/play, I think at this stage it's been a mutual decision

However, this can't go on for ages and if we are not selling him or Liverpool are not prepared to pay what it will take then he needs to be told to get back to work

If he refuses then we need to start fining him and as extra punishment keep adding to the asking price
