Well, you’re all better men / women than me. Absolutely no way I’d ever back him like our other players again

It won’t be the same but it would eventually be bearable IMO. Not that I expect it to be happen, but it’s possible.

Imagine the reaction when he doesn't celebrate scoring against Liverpool.

Or he's hauled off for not trying, and then sits on the Liverpool bench in protest. He's already gone beyond the pale, so why not!

After Cabaye refused to play we got the best 4 months of form from him after. I’ve lost loads of respect for Isak (not that he’d care like  ) and this whole saga stings as I bloody loved the lad, loved his nonchalant-ness on top of how good he is. Been at the centre of my most favourite recent memories following us; cup final, Everton away and that assist, the brace and last minute pen at Forest, the Spurs 6-1.

The most ideal scenario now for me is he stays, he gives us a great run of form again and we shake hands and move him on abroad in January or next summer.

Rooney handed in a transfer request to go to their local rivals, players get rehabilitated all the time. This narrative that there’s no way back for him only serves Liverpool.

Did Rooney refuse to train/play?

I think that's the bit that's annoyed the fans the most

The fans will have to get on with it as well if he stays tbh. If he goes on strike for competitive games then leave him to rot for 3 years, but pre-season friendlies? I agree it’s not good but I’m not that emotional about it.

That's Haaland

Ironically I think Haaland is a better fit for us than Isak, and Isak is a better fit for Man City than Haaland.

Swap deal?

His behaviour can't look good to Liverpool either.

Imagine you're about to spend around 150m on a player and he does this to his current team. Would you want that risk happening to you if Real Madrid come knocking in 18 months time?

I know they won't give a fuck because you know,Liverpool but he hasn't done himself any favours to everyone watching.

Also let's remember how Liverpool acted towards our takeover, will PIF really want to hand their best player over after everything that was done towards them?

I actually agree with this, mad is it seems to say it out loud.

Not the swap deal, just about the better fit.

Nah. He’s still within the ‘fold’ (was going to say ‘city limits’, but remembered the fecker is in Spain!).

Smacks one in then does the whole meek 'apology' celebration to their fans, the fucking cunt

His celebration might be a bit muted but there'd be nowt meek about it, neither would he acknowledge their fans. It's part of the cunt persona, he wouldn't really give that much of a fuck.

Isak basically had a free pass for every shocker he had including games where he just strolled around and looked liked he couldn't be arsed at all under the assumption he must be injured.

Those type of performances in the future would be viewed in a totally different light if he came back.

Players like Rooney or Suarez who wanted to leave are very easy to win fans back over with how they play. Both put in absolutely everything everytime they played.

That's true. We are definitely a body language shaming bunch  Take Gordon last season as case in point.

Would also be weird to see how he would celebrate a goal if he scores. Will piss people off if he celebrates as normal as if nothing happened, but would also massively piss people off if he doesn't celebrate.
Bring out the weird Minteh "sorry" celebration

Not that it matters, he's very likely still leaving and if he doesn't, he definitely won't play in that Liverpool game and will be unavailable atleast until after 1st September.

Liverpool probably planned this with his agent, it’s the same stuff Van Dijk did to move to them.

They won't be arsed. They signed VVD, Mane, Lallana, that shit CB they had - all did the same. It's the Liverpool way and they're probably loving him acting like this "It's Liverpool - it means more". Cunts

What if after all this. He and the club play it down  and say it was all noise from Liverpool. They knew in the background what was going on (him going to Spain for warm weather rehab etc was agreed) and he’s kept out of the “noise”

(wishful thinking I know)

It's what they will do, to a degree, once he's back in training and on the squad for the Sela cup weekend.

Enough of the fanbase will take that at face value which will be enough to allow him back into the good books when he scores the first of the season.
