This has a feeling of the Andy Carroll.

I remember when the first bids of £30m were getting rejected and there were people on here going "get in Ashley keep knocking them back" only for hours later a few agreed for £35m and Ashley will chopper him in to Liverpool to make sure deal gets done in time.

The negative of this is probably that we have given the green light for them to start bidding and just waiting to meet the fee we are happy to deal on.

So sickening this whole thing and especially as we currently have Osula as our only ST :anguish:

Says that the senior players on our side tried to convince him to stay and he's told them to do one. What a prick

The man is shameless. Should have left him scoring his 6 goals at Sociedad, the cheeky git.

That’s putting a different slant on it, when we bid twice for Wissa it’s all “but Brentford insist he’s not for sale” yet when Liverpool get a bid declined it’s “talks begin, opening bid declined and player made clear he wants to leave”. Pretty sure wissa has made it more clear.

Love how Romano has to piggy back on someone else breaking the news yet states himself that "player still insists on leaving" like he's been on the phone with him this morning having a catch up.

Shit stirring wanker.

Media are desperate for him to go to Liverpool it would seem. :(

If this shit is going to be a big money sport with all the ramifications this shit has to stop. Ex players have to start recusing themselves from discussing their former teams and journalists have to reveal their allegiances. Otherwise clubs have to start taking action.

Sorry absolute rubbish. Why would we give a green light when we have no replacements in full stop never mind of the necessary quality?

Didn't think I could go from loving a player to actually despising them so quickly. Never in a million years would I have thought Isak would be a total cunt but here we are. Not bothered about what he's done for us previously. The disrespect he's showing is fkn painful.

Never got the impression he liked being here tbh. Always seemed aloof/detached from fanbase. A bit like Batty...sees football as a job and a job only

Fuck him. At the start of this I said I'd rather we struggled on the pitch than gave in to him. I still stand by that.

Our terms, at least market value plus or fuck off.

We don't let him go until we have the necessary quality and if not then he doesn't go full stop.

I think he’s gone. They weren’t going to bid unless they were encouraged and are going to bid again. Should tell them not for sale at any price

How honorable and respectful of them to finally put a bid in.

Don't think we'll sell him without having someone else lined up FWIW.

It’s cos the stories were dying down somewhat with them start to regurgitate the same old shite in the press. They thought “well that’s as much damage the press can do so let’s try and unsettle him more with an offer now”. I wonder if we save any if he hands in a transfer request.
