Why not ?

Has the last 2 weeks been a dream to you. He’s desperate to leave and going effectively on strike and you think he should be handed a shirt guys like shearer, Milburn, Wilson, Ferdinand all were proud to wear

If he stays there will definitely start to be a backtrack from media that he is over priced and injury prone and it's insulting that we value him so highly, especially if he starts the season shit as will be expected if he stays now......

all while for the past year they have been the ones hyping him in the press as the best striker in the league currently and how Arsenal must sit him etc.

So which is it? He's either top 3 strikers in the league and a unicorn player as they describe him in a era of few star strikers. Or he's over hyped and injury prone. Which is it?

Pretty sure you’re agitating against your own fabrications there..? ;)

If it’s part of the healing process, and guarantees us another season of the best striker in the world, is it really that unpalatable?

Depends if they can get Isak to extend his strike to competitive games. If he’s still here at the start of the season and not playing then we’ll have a decision to make.

We already made our decision. My take is that he had a go, hoped it might work, but will shrug his shoulders and accept playing another season like we always planned before he leaves.

From our POV we need to double down on buying a class striker to play alongside him this season while working on bringing in another one for next season once he's finally sold.

I'm as disappointed about this as anyone, but I think folks are being a bit thin-skinned about it.

So far all he's done is put Romano on retainer to keep tweeting out the same vague statements every day and handed in a sick note to avoid a pre-season trip to halfway across the world that doesn't really matter and nobody wants to go to in the first place.

There are myriad ways he could be more disruptive than this if he chose to. So far we (1) haven't seen any statement that he wants to leave attributed directly to him, his agent, or even "sources close to him"; (2) no declaration that he will refuse to train or refuse to play games that actually matter; (3) no attempt to attack the club's reputation through his proxies in the press (he was lied to about a new contract, we're a shambles without an executive director and PIF doesn't care about us anymore etc.) For what it's worth, Wissa has already done #2 and #3 with Brentford.

There's no doubt he wants to go to Liverpool, but frankly it seems to me that he's hedging his bets so he can be quietly re-integrated into the squad with plausible deniability if it doesn't work out this summer.

I understand that this is something new to all of us because we're not used to having players who the biggest clubs in the world are willing to pay over a hundred million pounds for. But if we're going to keep growing as a club, we should get used to the fact that players of this ilk have more leverage than even your garden-variety really good player and like to flaunt it from time to time. We're all going to be miserable as a fanbase going forward if we lose our minds every time this happens. Even the likes of Liverpool or Man United can have their best players tapped up by Real Madrid/Barcelona.

Seems like they're putting pressure on Isak to ratchet up the disruption by "pulling out." They want him to refuse to report or to throw an open tantrum in the press.

Nar, the lad has an injury, he's been proactive and went to get treatment in the warm Spanish sun, Liverpool have bid and we've refused the offer, move on, new contract and shirt.

Very offensive to Eddie Howe to make out that his players tell him what they will do. He must look a right cunt in that dressing room according to you having been told by Isak he won’t play at Celtic, won’t come on tour, won’t train at Benton.

The accusation that the final word and decision on his whereabouts was down to him striking and not our Manager is mental. It’s just not how elite organizations work.

It’s been well reported that Isak asked not to go on the tour. Do u believe he is injured? Don’t be so gullible. It’s not offensive to Howe at all. It’s a fair reading of the situation. Get a grip
