Ketsbaia
Maybe Liverpool try to sweet-talk Leipzig into only accepting our Sesko bid, gifting them Elliott for a reasonable price. Something like that.

Ronson333
Isak now knows Liverpool don’t value him as much as he thought they did. He should be sacking his agent right now, ruined isak’s reputation for a club that doesn’t value him.
Palestoon
I think what our transfer business looks like in the next few days will say alot. If we're still seeing constant links with Sesko, Jackson, Watkins. It may mean door is still open if certain conditions are met (replacements/meeting valuation. If we focus on Wissa, and getting a CM and CB... it would signify the club have drawn a line under it and are moving forward with him being here for this upcoming season

The narrative all along was if we wanted to sell they would buy, low ball offer to unsettle things further then make it look like we’ve gone back to them cap in hand. Kid Icarus
There's no way Liverpool thought that would be accepted so I can only guess that this is all another one of their unbelievably transparent moves that will only work if we're the weakest club around. It’s not offensive to Howe at all. It’s a fair reading of the situation. Get a grip its not a fair reading, it’s completely made up. It is offensive to Eddie as it directly says ‘you are not in control’. Have a think about the legal implications for him of not honoring his work contract. There are very specific clauses in elite contracts to ensure there is significant liability on the party who breaks the contract. The implications of a player ‘downing tools to force a move’ are set out to ensure that the player does not have this option. If they did, then every player would use it as the only downside to them is reputation which can be managed and doesn’t impact their incomes. isak didn’t down tools, Eddie decided the best place for him was training by himself away from Newcastle. Pearljam10
Hopefully we show some ambition in the next four weeks and buy some players so maybe the best players believe in the project again and sign new contracts.

Emotic
It’s plain to everyone that the benchmark should be Florian Wirtz. If a midfielder from the German league who hasn’t once kicked a ball in the Premier League is worth 116.5 million pounds- then why the fuck do they think a 20+ goal per season striker in the PL, with three years left on his contract, at a club owned by the richest sovereign wealth fund on the planet - would be worth 6.5 million LESS? I won’t be surprised if we told them, as aggressively as possible, to get fucked. Based on the benchmark, even 150 million is too low for Isak. He had the opportunity to just not act like a prick about this and if he'd stayed this season we'd have all loved him for it, then could've gone anyway next summer. But instead he's made it obvious he wants to go ASAP, so now if he doesn't go he'll be shit on a stick to a lot of our fans this season. This is what puzzles me the most, he's going to get paid elite wages at some point. Why sudden rush to get outta town? I suppose it could boil down to being impatient or feeling we've neglected him financially, but have some faith in us and yourself, man!

In hindsight it looks like they signed Ekitike because they knew there was little chance of getting Isak. All this enticing of Isak and lowballing offers has been purely to unsettle the player and try to undermine a rival. I wish I could believe we would throw enough money at it to really make them shit their pants. It can be done.
