If not, Not sure how this is difficult to understand. wtf you talking about obviously if we get someone we want. Why would try for someone we don’t want. I’m suggesting it could be Watkins. “Not sure how this is difficult to understand” but you are making hard work of it. Here’s the hope quote to help you out. “Should this be a tactic, and they do return to the table, Newcastle will only sell on their terms, and that means a fair financial package plus replacements lined up. We understand that, if given encouragement, Newcastle would likely to make a move for Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins.” so as I was saying if Liverpool bid £150m and Villa give encouragement we would ‘likely” go for Watkins. Again I’ve no idea how you’ve failed to understand this point Edited August 1, 2025 by gdm

LaurentRobert
Romano has always peddled the line that " Liverpool will only make a bid if their is encouragement from Newcastle's side" That has proven to be absolute bullshit. Through this whole sage he has acted like a client journalist for either Isak's cunt agent or Liverpool.

LaurentRobert
Their fanbase is having an absolute melt down this evening. They really have convinced themselves that we'd bend over for the holy than thou Liverpool football club. After these shenanigans I think we should insist on not selling to these cunts. Let's wait for an actual bidding war next summer (which they'll be desperate to avoid) and sell him to a PSG/Real Madrid/Barca/Bayern, who could all feasibly be in the market for a striker Cannot wait to get into these bastards first home game of the season! Bank Holiday Monday, the booze wil be flowing, SJP under the lights, and these entitled cunts will be in town. Checko
They'll be back. No club accepts the first offer, and for all the talk of lowballing, 110 million is still the 4th largest transfer ever in terms of £s. Them saying they may walk away is just 'let's agitate him and his agent a bit more.' And we'd do the same to our targets too, let's not get on too much of a high horse here. This year they haven't really got any obvious competition for him: Arsenal have their own swedish CF now. Man C have Haaland. Chelsea have bought two strikers and have numerous others. Real have Mbappe. Barca are struggling with finances. Man U aren't even in Europe. Liverpool are champions, have shown ambition this year and are coming from a position of strength. It's a good time for them to go for him. It's all just rather sad really. Isak wanting out. The hostility towards him. I thought he'd be a bit less pretend-I'm-injuredy and would end up leaving next year instead if we couldn't meet his ambitions. It's really put a massive dampner on an already frustrating window. I can see why he'd go tbf. He's a geat player soon to b 26. If you're playing for Atalanta and Inter want to buy you you'd be keen. But the way it's all happened has been very unsavoury. I get the mitigation and lack of competition for his signature but liverpool have already spent more on a player this window in wirtz Isak has 3 years left is coming into "peaked age" has proved it in one of the best leagues in the prem and strikers are hard to come by and usually the most expensive position to recruit. I get brinkmanship or chancing your arm if I was a liverpool fan I would want my club to try and do good business at a good price but its around rice/ Moises Caicedo'se money its laughable if they thought it was a serious offer. alexf
Yeah I'm sure no one is doing so, but I'd hope no one is gloating yet or anything because there's still a massive chance he goes this window. I really hope not however.
