Ah yes, a want away player who skips his teams preseason trip, which took months to plan and prepare for, must find a working solution with his current employer or it won’t work. Novel stuff David.

Aye, masterful reading of the psychology behind the situation from Ornstein. I hadn't realised there might still be a bit of fallout to negotiate, thank god the press are there to keep us all right

Sounds like the way this is getting twisted we as fans need to be grateful to Liverpool for helping us with this problem they have engineered and in doing so its reasonable to lower the fee to an amount they want to pay.

Honestly its times like this when I miss just no social media and reports in a paper I could chose not to buy or teletext i could skip over.

I've recently deactivated Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Tiktok and I've never been happier, social media is a cesspool

I did the same a few months ago, its literally the cess pool of the world.  Full of lunatics and conspiracy theorists

Never has there been a signing the media have been so desperate to happen - they have been willing this for months.

Just like wider society, the establishment have to hoard all of the wealth and anyone perceived in the middle class must give up theirs to feed the divide even further.

The entitlement and the subservience by the client media in football is no different to politics.

Unfortunately PIF are turning out to be pretty rotten owners.

I'd be interested to hear who you think ios a good owner?  Perhaps Tony Bloom who buys in playerrs with a view to selling them on for a profit?  Maybe Todd Boehly who buys everything that moves?  The American's at Liverpool, who wanted to create a breakaway league?

Could be in the contract or would be one for CAS.

Compensation could be substantial though, if we then have to spend £70m+ on a replacement for example.

Wouldnt see a penny of it though...Chelsea sued Mutu for the value of his contract after his (alledged)dabbling with the colombian marching powder and still havent got it

Binned off most of it off, just need to un-wind from Facebook.

Social media a scourge on society.

All I want to see at this point is that the club hold firm to their valuation of c.£150m. Ideally we go out and sign our two strikers, keep Isak until the valuation is met, if it's not he stays and trains alone away from the squad if he remains uninterested in playing for us.

If we sell for cheap it's a considerable failure.

PIF could have stopped all of this nonsense weeks ago by publicly stating that Isak is not for sale, End of.

PIF could buy up Liverpool and use them as their feeder club tbf, they probably thought it wasn't worth their time responding.

Everyone is expecting Isak to go - PIF would show a statement of intent that they can't be bullied by keeping him.  We have no reason to sell - it is as simple as that.

We’re being bullied into losing our best player here when we hold all the cards. We said he’s not for sale earlier… so we should continue to say he’s not for fucking sale. I don’t care about Isak’s little tantrum, he’s got 3 years left; get on with it until we say so.

That might be how this plays out tbh. No one has a clue what PIF's stance is on this, or even if they have one. My view is this will have been delegated to those running the football club, so the decision would be made by whoever is on the board. Howe would have major input I'd have thought, depends how much patience he has with Isak and if he feels he will be 100% committed this season.

If we end up selling it's not because we've been bullied IMO. It's because we think it's the best option all things considered. We can't put this at anyone else's door, that's the bottom line.
