That might be how this plays out tbh. No one has a clue what PIF's stance is on this, or even if they have one. My view is this will have been delegated to those running the football club, so the decision would be made by whoever is on the board. Howe would have major input I'd have thought, depends how much patience he has with Isak and if he feels he will be 100% committed this season.

I would think PIF do have a stance as Yasir has been very vocal about it as their representative, anything he says is PIF, I hope he continues to deal with this matter personally.

Depends how engaged he is day to day though. He seems to fly in periodically every few months so not sure he has his finger on the pulse of everything that goes on here. His role at PIF is pretty wide ranging beyond Newcastle so is he really going to get involved on individual transactions?

Hopefully he gave them a steer though - I.e. not for sale at any price.

Nunez thing worries me a bit as I feel maybe games at play I.e. they sell him to Saudi league and they can then use the money to buy Isak.

If he goes for a penny under 150, it'll be a very public humiliation; it’ll be us getting bent over for everyone to see. This has been a stitch-up operation from the jump; the player himself, agents, media snakes, and that scumbag club all working together to tear apart the leverage we actually had. It’s a fucking disgrace.

I would like to think, given his recent soundbites that he is somewhat engaged, he may not have his finger on the pulse but I have a feeling he trusts Howe and they seem to be singing from the same hymn sheet about Isak, he will probably take his cues from Howe but with Isak being his favourite player, so long as Howe still sees Isak as an asset I think Yasir will fight that corner for the club. All conjecture obviously, but just my take.

Unfortunately PIF are turning out to be pretty rotten owners.

Yeah cos delivering our first trophy in over 50 years, achieving a 66.6% rate of Champions League qualification and bringing in some of the most beloved players ever to wear the shirt is 'rotten'.

Hells bells 😞

I pretty much echo Shearer’s comments.

Thanks for the memories, but if you are not invested in the club get as much as possible for him and get it done quickly.

an unhappy player causes nothing but unrest and issues throughout the squad.

I'm fairly certain his curiosity might be piqued when the transaction is in the 9 figures and will have a dramatic impact on thier billion dollar asset.

When they are selling our best player to a direct rival, a decision like that has to go right to the top. And I imagine it won't be something Yasir is up for.

PIF cares about the reputation much more than anything else re Newcastle. The investment is nothing to them. What they care are the reputation and image of the Saudi among the world.

Interesting if he really went to receive treatment for his “injury”. That really sounds like he is willing to follow Eddies story line.

Maybe... Or he's playing the game to avoid fines and similar actions?

is it too crazy to think if the club - whether howe, [vacant ceo] or Yasir himself - really felt this situation wasn't salvageable they would have found a way to make the deal with liverpool work?
