He wanted to go when he was adored by the fans here, why would he change his mind after he stained his reputation here? Not interested if he's not going to change his mind or not. Unless we get two replacements in of sufficient standard, and then (and only then) Liverpool match our valuation, then he won't be going.

Barnes23
1 hour ago, Lush Vlad said: What?! That’s a tenuous link at best and just looking for something that isn’t there. Do they not wear 1-11 for internationals? Should he change to 14 every 2-4 years when they qualify for a tournament and it is squad numbers? Do players, other fans and the media put as much stock in THE FAMOUS NUMBER NINE as some of our fans seemingly do? I doubt it. I think the particular rationale in the video isn't the strongest way of presenting the evidence but in truth Isak's response was evasive. Even if the shirt belonged to Wilson at that time he could have still spoken positively about it, he'll know it has a significance here. He chose to take a sharp turn in a different direction and I think it's not a leap given what has happened since + other pieces of evidence to suspect his head has been turned for quite some time. If that doesn’t go well, expect a deal agreed with Leipzig for Sesko to follow imminently. Hardly controversial or unexpected. EH was always going be tasked with that first day back. Promising Isak showed up today. Makes it less dramatic tomorrow. Manager needs to know the plan going forward into these two home friendlies ideally. If Isak plays in one of them then you’d imagine that’s that. If he ain’t involved then we need someone in ASAP.

Magpie Mover
If we sell Isak it's definitely the end of the very few public promises that PIF made when they bought the club. You don't sell your best player to a club that you are hoping to compete with especially when you don't need to. It's very hard to imagine that we won't be a much poorer team without him, whether we get Sesko and Wissa or not. Could be wrong though.
Kid Icarus
It's easily the biggest self-inflicted gimpery I've encountered from any club in the transfer market, let alone just at Newcastle.
oldtype
Personally I'm of the belief that if you can sell any player that's not prime Messi or Ronaldo for 150 million pounds, it probably makes sense to do it. There's typically significant diminishing returns between player value and fee (i.e. a 150 million pound player does not contribute three times as much value on the pitch as a 50 million pound player). So unless the squad is so deep that you're running out of space to put good players in your XI, you will usually get more value replacing one player with several in the open market. Also, at some point it's just so much money that it doesn't make sense to have that much value tied up in a single player, due to injury risk alone if nothing else. All this is contingent on our asking price actually being met, of course.
Collage
It's so easy. We simply must not sell him to any other team in the Premier League. What he wants at this moment is irrelevant, frankly. Next summer to Spain or PSG or whatever, "fine".
Colos Short and Curlies
I'm going to stick my neck out here. If he leaves and it's for £150m he will have a really underwhelming season and will struggle to live up to the scrutiny of being a £150m player. Of he stays then he will have a season becoming of a £200m player

Palestoon
Do we read anything into the fact that he turned up to the training ground alone today to get "treatment" on his thigh? Could be trying to ease his way back in before he returns with tge squad on Tues/Wed?
