He's handled this like a prick no doubt, but the reality is up until now, all that's been public is that he wants to "explore" his options, and that he's missed the tour with an "injury".

 

I think we can all read between the lines, but the key point is he hasn't gone scorched earth claiming he'll never play for the club again. and he's already been back to the training ground while the rest of the squad have a couple of days off. Point being theirs a part of him that is still aware that he may be here whether he likes it or not.

 

At this point, theirs almost no reasonable scenario where selling him this summer is going to be good for the club.

 

Sit him down, and work something out for this season. Close the book for this summer. Get Wissa, and strength the rest of the squad. If their are opportunities to get high value targets now, spend some of next summers Isak money. We'd be in a good position to have another great season. Deal with Isak start of next summer. 

 

On the other hand, if he is burning his bridges and being a complete cunt with the manager and teammates, causing turmoil... then that's another matter altogether. I think we'll get some clarity starting tomorrow

He's still got three years of his contract left. We hold, and buy Wissa as a Wilson replacement. I don't really see any better alternatives at the moment. Certainly not pining for inferior players who keep turning us down.

Agree. I am willing to forgive him. Everyone makes mistakes and also PIF didn't do their best to move the project forward. Yep and he still is our player.

Exactly. Theirs no reason to rush selling him this summer and scramble around after we've lost out on all of our top targets.

 

The only caveat to that is if hes privately made it known, or the club feel he will be a daily problem. And i just don't think that's his personality. 

 

It's one thing to listen to your agent telling you to miss training. Its another to show up to work every day and antagonize your teammates/coaches

It isn't even about forgiveness, it's about not bending over. We still hold the registration of the striker every club in the country would have. I'm not going to cry over lesser players like Sesko, Pedro, or Ekitke choosing cartel clubs. Isak and Wissa still outgun them, that's the top and bottom of it, and that's still in our hands.

You’d hope Isak can see that we’re trying to make it possible to consider our options. And, he can also see that we need his replacement/ s in first and that those red Scouse cunts have been front and centre in preventing this and haven’t even made a serious offer yet.

 

We have to be close to the point where we just say he’s not for sale and there’s nowt we can do about it.

 

This is the transfer window where PSR and its true meaning hits home and is laid bare for all to see. There’s a ceiling, we’re at it and almost every other club is quite content about it. All we need now is an average season and we become weaker and the gap grows as we navigate PSR bullshit.
