Isak's camp has gone very quiet recently.

don’t worry about Isak camp. Look at what we are doing. We’ve isolated him from the group (maybe rightly so) we are bending backwards to try get his replacement (Šeško & now Jackson) Isak’s camp don’t need to say anything they’ve got what they want. He’s as good as gone imo. The dominoes just need to fall.

1. In this instance I think it’s true. They’ve done a number on him. Turned his head

2. Liverpool are working on the Isak deal and it won’t be cheap. We should be at least testing the water if he goes to Liverpool so be it but I don’t think they could afford Isak & Guehi without their sales. Are you suggesting we just give up and go for a cheaper inferior player because Liverpool are interested

3. Why not believe Hope? McGinn started the least amount of games last season in his whole Villa career spending more games on the bench than any other season too and approaching 31 I don’t think it would take anywhere near £40m to get him.

edit: just to add if we do in fact spent anything near £30-£40m on a 30 year old John McGinn then we have seriously fucked it and

Yeah, it's been rough lately for us right, but let's not jump to conclusions, okay? Anyway, I'll let you deal with all the bad vibes. Have a good one. 👍

You literally jumped to conclusions in pretty much all your post. We can only go with the info we have and try make opinions round it. Yes it’s negative and bad vibes but there’s very little ‘good vibes’ this summer.

I hope I’m wrong with everything I’ve said I just don’t think I am

You've give the exact same examples that were just given. I'm saying they are the exception, not the rule.

If you think Isak staying mean he will give 100% then that's fine. But I don't see it.

Those big name players did. Which big name players haven't?

I genuinely can't think of any

They all refused to train/play and went missing for almost a week did they? I appreciate you have hope, but it's over, he's going, he may as well go now.

Yes, most of them did lol.

Coutinho missed the first month of the season due to a "back injury" - but still played for Brazil.  Van Dijk was ordered to train alone.  Even Mr Barca Goat himself Messi refused to train during his transfer saga.

If you think this is somehow a unique situation or particularly toxic, you haven't been paying attention to other clubs sagas.  This is quite run of the mill by comparison.  He hasn't even threatened to sue us yet.

Yeah there have been much worse situations than this. Rooney put in a transfer request when he was heavily linked with Man City then ended up at Man United for another 7 years.

The only one that still seems to get brought up as nearly happening is Gerrard to Chelsea.

If anyone wants an example of how dodgy and what extreme lengths these cartel clubs will go with agents and behind the scenes crap to get the players they want...just watch that John Obi Mikel interview with Linekar.

The biggest domino is Liverpool matching our valuation, they haven't even come close yet so I don't know how you can make the leap he's as good as gone.

Because I think they will. As soon as we get a replacement in they will bid. Does not matter what angle I look at this whole thing at it always comes back to..why are we trying so hard and wasting so much time in this window for Isak’s replacement? If we don’t think they’ll bid what we are willing to accept why are we bothering with Šeško and Jackson?

He's only going if we sign an adequate replacement and I don't class the Chelsea lad as that. It would be gross negligence to let him leave without a top class replacement coming in.

Maybe Suds, Andy and Nickson have done the numbers on Jackson [emoji38]

Liverpool have sold Nunez.

I wonder if Al-Hilal is related to our owners in any way, and whether they are trying to indirectly provide the funds to Liverpool to pay £150M for Isak.

One simple interpretation is that Isak is 100% gone and we are just waiting to confirm a replacement.

Another more nuanced interpretation is that we are trying to manage scenarios since we don’t know if Liverpool will match our valuation.

The second interpretation of what is happening must be a million times more difficult to manage.

If Liverpool think they can match our valuation, or even close enough they think we will accept, in what world does anyone believe they'll do the gentlemanly thing and wait for us to get a replacement. They will 100% try and force through a move at our expense, what have they done above board so far?

If they have the cash they'll tell Isak to hand in a transfer request and cover his loyalty bonus from us with a signing on bonus from them.

What a sad end, sulking into the training ground hiding under his hood.

Bloke was on his way to becoming a legend a few months, he now looks to be leaving acrimoniously.  It didn't have to be this way, the fucking shithouse but it's a consequence of the rules that the cartel have put in place.

Not everything that goes on is shared via twitter accounts and the media. There will absolutely be discussions between the clubs and I’m certain a fee has been discussed and I’m certain we’ve told Liverpool it’ll be a flat out no unless we have a replacement.

Get rid of Isak. Obvious Eddie doesn't want him to mingle with the group and kept him apart.

Full trust in Eddie.

Full trust in Eddie means not stating "get rid" we wait to see how he plays this one out, still as clear as mud what's going to happen.
