I'm not condoning Pardew at all, he was awful, a prick, and was probably the driving factor behind why we never had any ambition under Ashley, and that Europa campaign, he football was also utter shit, but in terms of my hatred, Bruce is way ahead of him.

He continually talked down to every single fan while at the same time having the whole press in his lap making sure any sort of protest was seen an attack on poor old Brucie. He also had zero tactical acumin, and game after game we saw that defensive rigidity we had under Rafa get worse and worse, Pardew atleast you could see what the plan was even if it was shit, Bruce you couldn't, there was nothing. Prick.

There is exactly zero percent chance you were actually hating Pardew when we were fifth, Ben Arfa was tearing up defenses every week and Cisse was scoring fucking UFO goals at Stamford Bridge. Zero.

I was at the Sir Bobby statute unveiling and distinctly remember the spontaneous applause and cheers he was getting just by walking by. We're all ashamed to admit it now, but the man was loved

That’s not what I said though is it. Or what I said in response to your claim we loved him like we did Eddie for six months. Feel free to look through my post history if you can be arsed. I never liked the guy and I was against him at times when barely anyone other than Mick and Dr. Venkman were also against him. Towards the end of that season I felt like I must have got it wrong and he was better than I’d thought. Didn’t mean I liked the guy, but it meant I thought he was a much better manager than I had done for most of his tenure to that point. I absolutely trashed him multiple times that season even when we were getting points as the football was awful and his players bailed him out countless times when he clearly had no understanding of how to set the side up

It would give my eyes AIDS to look but I feel fairly confident we hated his guts every season he was here.

Don't force me to spend some quality time with the search function bro

Pardew was a dick but we could have kicked on from 5th if Ashley had funded the team properly, so Pardew had the rug pulled out from under him

11/12 was a freak season, but 13/14 he had the tools for a top 6 challenge and was absolutely dire.

I have no idea if you were personally against him or not but even you're admitting that for a brief period of time, you started to feel like you had gotten it wrong. We all did. To various degrees.

Yeah. And that’s not the same as saying we loved him for a period like we do Eddie. Maybe just accept that you made a stupid comment rather than trying to reframe the argument to still get a win

So yous are telling me in the fifth season when cisse couldn't stop scoring on that run near the end  in the 4-3-3 setup, no one liked pardew? What a load of tosh.

No one’s saying that. In fact, the opposite really. Why can’t people use critical faculties to appraise words properly

Or if he wasn't so busy trying to sell those players to get a cut from the fee.

The search function is like the Ark of the Covenant... best left alone.

I recall you taking a very anti Keegan/pro Ashley stance for a couple of years there.

He was genuinely loved by the fanbase for a short period of time. The fact that you personally were not quite there isn’t really relevant.

People only started hating Pardew once he started peddling Ashley's lies. Then it all went increasingly to shit as fans slowly turned the screw and he slowly failed on all fronts.

One of my favourite stories about how much of a cunt Pardew is is from an ex-West Ham photographer's book:

‘Let me tell you a story. In fact, it’s called the ‘King story’ among those who were present and who believe it’s a perfect example of Pardew’s arrogance. We were staying at a hotel in the North East ahead of a game at Sunderland during Alan’s first season in charge and were about to have our Friday evening meal…I sat down with Pardew…and fitness coach Tony Strudwick, who now works for Manchester United and has done very well for himself. We ordered our meals and suddenly Pardew asked us all what were were having. I think Eddie said he’d gone for the chicken, while I’d chosen the steak.

‘Pards then turned to Struds, who revealed whatever it was he’d asked for. ‘That sounds good,’ said Pards. ‘Tell you what; if yours is better than mine when it turns up, I’m having that. That was one of the things he’d always say: I’m having that. ‘See that bloke’s haircut. I’m having that.’ He said it all the time. Anyway, I wasn’t ‘having that’ at all. So I said ‘Well, you’re certainly not having my dinner. You’ll get a fork in the back of your hand!’ Pardew sort of laughed, before turning back to Struds and saying, ‘Yeah, if yours is better than mine, I’m having that.’

‘Our meals eventually arrived and Pards looked at Tony and said, ‘Yeah, I was right, yours definitely looks much better than mine; I’m having that.’ And he went to swap the plates over. ‘You can’t do that!’ I said. ‘What do you mean?’ he asked. ‘You can’t just take somebody’s else’s dinner,’ I said in disbelief. And he replied, without any hint of a joke, ‘When you’re the King, you can do anything.’
