I’ve said before that I think the best time to sell him for PSR purposes is likely after the end of June next year.

This coming cycle we have the 22/23 figure falling off the books, which was a substantial loss. I don’t know the exact figures for the coming year of course so maybe we’re in a lot of bother but my guess is we’ll be fine next summer for PSR without any major sale.

Summer of 2027 is where it’ll get tricky, once the Minteh and Anderson sales boosted 23/24 figure disappears off the books.

Sell him after June next summer and our PSR position looks rosey for the next four years. Sell him now and it only looks good for the next three.

Saw lots of Newcastle fans getting interviewed there on Sky. My favourite was the last one, the young guy with the blue hoodie. I liked him, well spoken and said it how it is about upsetting the fans. Preach brother.

Think everyone has bought into the posturing way too much. It’s all make believe anyway, but if we got wissa + 90 odd million for Isak, our squad would have a striker, the dark cloud of bellend isak would be gone, and we’d be 90 million better off.

Eh ?

Latest from Sky Sports News' Keith Downie:

"Newcastle talked last night about the conditions of a sale. There were two conditions.

"One, the valuation of the player is £150m.

"That is what Newcastle's valuation is. I still think they would probably do a deal for a little bit less than that. But I think Liverpool's £110m offer that landed a few weeks ago is way short. So if Liverpool were to really seriously want Isak, they would have to come to the table with a higher bid.

"The second is that Newcastle need to find a replacement. They tried on Benjamin Sesko, they tried on Hugo Ekitike, failed on both of those.

"They're actually even struggling right now, as we can see, to bring in a replacement for Callum Wilson, who left on a free transfer.

We've been telling you for weeks now that they've been trying to sign Yoane Wissa from Brentford. But he's seen as the Callum Wilson replacement rather than the Alexander Isak replacement.

"So they can't even get the second striker in, if you like.

"If they were able to land Wissa in the next few days - and I am expecting a bid in the next couple of days - and Liverpool came to the table offering £130m then Newcastle might have a decision to make.

"However, it would leave them very light on striker reinforcements."

Won’t happen this window, good chance other clubs will take him next summer.

Think they’ll bid £130m with add ons and test our stance. Gonna be a long 11 days

Still falls short and we don’t have that 2nd striker. Gordon plus one missing for ACON is a ridiculous situation to put ourselves in.

I agree I just can’t relax over it. I just cannot see the window shutting and him still being here. I’m convinced Howe won’t have him anywhere near the squad. no dickhead policy after all.

Think those up top realise that 130/140/150m now will be of little use to us atm…..What would we spend it on, no room left in the transfer deadline to pursue other targets….Might as well wait until January/ end of season where we will have new CEO etc to target areas of need and use the money sensibly….it’ll piss off isak, but tough shit…Think we all know he will eventually have to return to reality and start training and playing…There may well be many amongst us who just want him out, but imho the best way to plan ahead is allow him to get his shit back together and reintegrate.. footballers being footballers, I’m sure they will soon forget what happened when we start to play flowing football again….not to say the Isak hasn’t been an arsehole throughout but it’s not in our interests to sell these next 12 days.

For the greater good he’ll be here. Eddie will know the score. He’s already quoted as giving Isak an in if he chooses to take it. The club statement for me says not for sale without categorically saying not for sale (this window).
