Alexander Isak - International C*nt

I've enjoyed Liverpool fans meltdown since the club's statement. 

 

Out of entitlement they assumed that we'd eventually bend over and accept their lowball offer for Isak. Now they're in a situation where they are quite light up top with no plan B, especially when Salah flies off to afcon ( which could be the difference between winning or not winning the title) .

 

Liverpool fans condensation of Newcastle in this saga is also a reflection of the gap between the two clubs getting smaller. We were zero threat to them 5 years ago, and they could easily poach our best players (Carroll, Wijnaldum, Enrique etc) 

 

Things have changed. We've just slapped them up in a Cup Final, are qualifying regularly for Champions League and are no longer bending over to their interests in our players. The gap is getting smaller, and they know it .

I still can’t get past the fact that we’d just won a cup, we’re hunting down Champions League football and this guy is having conversations with Howe about wanting to leave. I guess it explain his form at the back end of the season that we all assumed as a thigh injury.

A new deal with a sizeable but not prohibitive release clause (£120m or so) for next summer definitely feels the best resolution for the short term. Agent gets a small cut and can still get his pound of flesh next summer. 

Him and his agent would have thought they'd won the lottery when he signed for Newcastle (he was a massive overpay at £63m according to most).

Admittedly after a couple of years here he looks class and worth the price quoted to Liverpool and wages in line with that but, Howay Alex man, what the fuck are you doing.

Some of us were just caught in surprise when Howe actually admitted he was aware Isak wanted to leave way before 24/7 when this saga began. So much talk earlier in the window about changing formation. It is now crystal clear the attempts to sign Pedro or Ekitike were meant to replace Isak.

 

I for one didn’t interpret what Eddie said this morning as the club promising Isak to leave before the window opened. You seem to have put words in our mouths tbh. Show me if u can a quote from any of us here interpreting same way as those Liverpool fans did

Alex (just in case you are lurking…) you haven’t said anything unforgivable. Every fan can understand a desire to play at the highest level possible. If we had any near your level of talent and potential we would want the same too. 
Thing is we have taken you so much to our hearts, revelled in having such a world class striker in our team, shared so much of the striving and the success, such effort and craft has brought, with you and your team mates that understandably many have have felt betrayed and rejected by your assertive approach to ensuring a move. Hence all the c-word ranting; hurt comes out as anger as I am sure you know. It won’t last. All you have to do is do what you do best. Return to the fold. Be the prodigal son. You will have not only our appreciation but, for many, our ongoing support and unconditional love forever. Ask Tino. Ask Les. Ask Alan. 
Even if you lose out on finances and maybe trophies this season you will be able to move next summer if you still want to. Leave with your head held high. Able, for the rest of your life, not just the relatively short period in the full glare of the floodlights, to look yourself in the mirror and know that you did not sully this wonderful chapter of your career. That you stayed. Played your best football in an improved team (achieved who knows what…) and did not leave your teammates, your friends, your ardent fans, in a compromised situation. 
You know Eddie and co. would have helped you to leave if we had been able to buy a suitable replacement (must confuse you why Liverpool snapped up Ekitike before securing you, knowing it risked NUFC digging in their heels). There is no trust broken where it matters. Between the people in the dressing room, the family and brothers in arms you have grown with, in your time here. 
make the choice that is right for you, Alex. Bara du har makten att rätta till saker och ting.

Recall the wisdom of your heritage, whilst Liverpool may seem like the glittering prize for this year: Melkena aberena. Be with your friends and colleagues, stay with the family (Kab beynika Giat mis hizbka miat).

This is right.  The lack of a release clause in Isak's contract wasn't some careless oversight by his agent.  The three most basic terms in a player's contract are salary,  contract length and release clause. And they're related.  A club will agree to a higher salary if the player agrees to a long contract and a high release clause (or no release clause at all.) Isak took the conservative option of a guaranteed long-term salary that was high by the standards of the time, reputedly triple what Sociedad was paying him, instead of a deal that paid less but offered a quicker and easier out.  Now he has buyer's remorse and his agent orchestrates this chorus of righteous indignation about how unfair it all is.
