And with that, a mighty cheer went up from the heroes of Gallowgate. They had banished the awful Alexander Isak forever, because it was haunted. Now let's all celebrate with a cool glass of turnip juice.

We must get a striker in. I assume this Isak deal was agreed last week if not much earlier, and that we have another striker deal all ready to go as well, regardless of what the selling club's public stance about not selling may be. If we don't have a striker coming in, this is a disaster.

My overall impression is that this is not far off Isak's fair value, there was a "good fit" type symbiosis where both club and player made each other look better than they are, but regardless of fee, we did not need to sell this summer and this has been brought about by being walked all over by the player and the buying club. The natural way for this to have happened would have been a bid that was much higher than fair value.

Villa are floundering and Forest aren't doing too well either. Thanks to PSR, fly too close to the sun and this is what happens. Especially if your folk are too inept to build a fucking stadium or name a fucking training ground.

Irrespective of all else, it's completely and utterly obscene that a football club can spend half a billion fucking pounds in one transfer window

That football club and its fans were in total agreement on that......until it was them that did it

Seriously how does this benefit us

If they get Guehi, it'll take Liverpool's summer spend to a cool half a billion? Must be a nice ceiling to have.

We've basically handed them the league when if we had kept Isak could be challenging ourselves - that is the lunacy of it all.  I expected more from PIF - the statement they put out looks a joke now.

I don’t think there is any way that it can be spun that the owners haven’t made a hash of this from start to finish - the player has acted out very publicly and successfully managed to undercut the club’s valuation.   The club also issued a statement re ‘conditions’ where it seemed to have briefed the press that the price was £150m.

We don’t know if the valuation was the real one, but if we don’t have another striker in by this time tomorrow then they’ll get all the opprobrium that they deserve.  If we’ve made a big signing (or two) by that time then my view would be that we’ve done what we need to protect and improve the club and onwards we fuck.

Probably going to be a very unpopular post, but I think 125m is a good price for him at his age, I don't think he's going to get better and we've already seen the best of him. I think we're selling him at his peak or just past it.

Trying to separate heart from head bearing in mind his behaviour, and for a player to appreciate +60m in 3 years, plus all the room to reinvest... and we're selling a twat not someone who wants to stay. It's be gutting if we had an offer 'too good to turn down' for Guimaraes or Tonali and they made it clear they're happy here but the club effectively booted them into a helicopter Carroll-style.

Anyway, I never thought Isak was that good? I think our new German lad will bring more to the team and be a much better fit tactically. We should hopefully see an increase in goals from midfield and out wide with his build up play and ball retention.

Cya twat, thanks for what you did while you were here, integral to our push up the league and the league cup win, but still a twat.

Looking forward to what this means PSR wise, this could be the making of our squad.

Aye people spinning narratives and never counter points raised is getting on my nerves as well.

It's a football forum it's what happens.

It isn't bollocks that folk have wanted Isak sold. Anyone saying it is, is deluded.

Folk haven't wanted us to bend over and be shafted by Liverpool and it appears we have, at this stage. However, it is convenient to not consider developing key factors and not at least consider why we may have finally taken this decision at this stage.

There is nothing wrong with attempting to review the positives and negatives to further understand or formulate an opinion on whether this is a good or bad move. That's what we should all do.

History dictates that the decisions undertaken by the management of the club have been (in the majority) nothing but positive for us to date. Therefore, I choose to back them not berate them, in what has been an incredibly difficult circumstance.

You and Heron both saying this now. I didn't respond to Heron because I didn't want to keep quoting him, bit this is utter, utter bollocks. I can't really put it any other way.

It’s not utter bollocks though, read through this thread over the past few weeks. You are in a WhatsApp group that I’m in where it’s been mentioned. Go on social media and look at it, look at all the people on YouTube videos and being interviewed for cameras saying that we should get rid of him.

this is my biggest gripe now. If we can't even stick to the conditions in our own statement, then what the fuck? Absurdly weak.

I don’t think we’re title challengers tbf and wouldn’t be with a half-arsed Isak still in the building.

I just don't buy this at all. Now or in 12 months time Isak is still one of the best strikers around.

Brentford and Wolves understand the value in standing firm, we've folded despite having an incredibly strong hand. This is a major turning point with PIF.

Brentford and Wolves sold their best players and are clinging to their second best players to stay in the league. Isak was always leaving, he didn’t care about the club as deep as some of our other players.

For the record, I think £130mil isn’t enough, but it appears Eddie and our owners do and want him gone. I’m fine if it gets reinvested and we add more quality.

we all knew the day would come when a purple would have to go.

Aye, with a fair offer and representative of the player's value. Not stringing something out all summer and playing a soap opera out in public through client social media 'influencers'.

Give me the Eze to Arsenal situation any day of the fucking week over this complete and utter farce which has affected the club from top to bottom.

The other aforementioned club has just tanked last year's Champions League quarter finalists 3-0 at home.
