Sweden's saviour was kind enough to grace the pitch with his presence for just the 30 mins after some guys from Wolfsburg and Celtic were preferred in attack ahead of him.

I remember those who argued that we should try to keep ahold of him and reintegrate him as "it's a world cup year, he'll want to go into the tournament on the back of a good season".

Nothing against Sweden or all except for one Swede, but having someone that was previously regarded as one of the best strikers in the world not make it to the World Cup would be pretty funny.

And then waiting to see if FIFA try to change the rules for him to be able to get in somehow anyway, like with that Club World Cup abomination.

Us selling him when we did is really turning out to be shrewd business if this carries on, he's been pathetic. Better the devil you know Alex, something, something, green grass.

I'm hoping seeing him go from the hottest property in the country to a meme so rapidly will be in the back of the minds of our players now when agents start whispering in their ear.

No chance of that happening. He simply isn't that big of a star.

Any news on how Elanga played?

Hit and miss but he did well with the cross for the Sweden goal. Sweden team are a shambles after the JDT reign. It looked better in the first half last night but then it fell apart as usual in the second. Really hard to see this Swedish team get through play-off but stranger things have happened I guess.
