Or he goes to Saudi and they pay many times what they should.

Another possibility. But going off his interview, he’s clearly still got a very high opinion of his capabilities. Would he be prepared to go into semi-retirement there and effectively sack off playing at elite level?

This really could not have went any better. Just take a minute to enjoy it

they spent over £500m in the summer bragging about power plays etc

they’ve failed to win more league games than they’ve won after 15 games

Isak has scored one league goal. While Woltemade hit the ground running and not forgetting he’s already had the inevitable groin injury

slot bringing up Jacob Murphy in an interview

and how Salah making comments about broken promises after the scousers defending Isak and slagging our club coz we ‘broke promises’

absolutely no one would have believed you if you were told this in July

The implosion is a thing of beauty to be honest. Slot's dismantling of everything Klopp built is approaching Souness levels of destruction (of LFC, not NUFC).

Liverpool will always recover. The next great manager will fall into their lap eventually so it's only temporary, but while it is ongoing, I'm going to enjoy every moment.

If he was motivated by the Saudi riches I think he would have went there in the summer, I think he still sees himself as top level player. Ronaldo only went to Saudi when it was clear no decent CL club would touch him.

I could see a situation where Liverpool and him agree a mutual termination and save on his wages and he goes to have a season or two in Serie A or Spain at a lower wage to stay in the CL.

Turkey is also an underrated option for him - there is daft money there at the moment.

This is a win win for Liverpool- either they sack Slot and get a competent manager or they get a £100mil from Saudi for Salah and £400k off the books

Or flip it around.

They now can't sack Slot as it would look like Salah has won.

Saudi clubs will see this as a Ronaldo situation and wait out to not pay a fee

Liverpool knew they needed to replace Salah without receiving any fee this summer, they are now in the same position but have paid him an extra £15m (ish) for no tangible output

Not really, if it forces Slot out the door and they keep Salah it ties the new managers hands straight away.

I think the only conclusion to this is Salah leaves, Slot continues his rubbish form and leaves after Salah.

I'm quoting myself here but just adding to that £15m, I'd imagine there was a signing on bit and then a negotiated exit fee as well so more likely £30m when all said and done.

Consequence free for Liverpool but a transfer fee that most clubs can't afford to go wrong
