jack j
Probably couldn't have went any worse for him tonight really New star striker man of the match. Chiesa stepping into Jotas shoes and becoming the 4th attacking option of the bench, coming on and getting a massive goal Then their defence looking an absolute sack of shit that needs reinforcements £££ Edited August 15, 2025 by jack j

Kid Icarus
Ornstein's way of presenting the same information was interesting. He prefaced everything Isak's said with "in his own mind", which was new.
Kooiman
Maybe I've got my black and white glasses on, but the more I see of Liverpool the more I struggle to justify them signing Isak right now. Ekitike has had a bright start and looks ready to lead the line. If you sign Isak you're instantly taking minutes away from Ekitike in his natural position, whether that means putting him on the bench or shunting him out wide. Even if they're suggesting a total football in-game rotation where they alternate positions, it seems like trying to put a hat on a hat. It made more sense for us to sign both because it was a succession plan with Isak leaving 12 months later. Are Liverpool fans trying to say with a straight face that Ekitike signed up to play for them knowing they'd sign an even more expensive striker in the same summer? Sure, it's two games, but I've seen very few issues with Liverpool's attack. I've seen multiple issues with their defense. That's their priority. I would imagine Isak himself is starting to see that. JUICE690
Don't they need a second striker though? (Obviously it doesn't need to be Isak). Edited August 15, 2025 by JUICE690
kingxlnc
The more I look at this, the more I see Isak only fitting in at Barcelona as Lewandowski's replacement. Isak, Raphina, Yamal is some front three. The problem is they are broke. Wouldn't mind us doing a loan swap for a year with Isak and Lewa whilst they try and find some cash, sell some assets or levers etc. Sell for 140m next year. We get an experienced CL performer - they subsidise wages. Isak gets paid his NUFC salary but in fresh environemnt. I'd also then sign a young striker with huge potential, like Ramos or Samu who can then learn from Lewa this season. Unlikely but just an idea. Skeletor
Absolutely spot on. If Isak refuses to play for the remainder of his 3 year contract and we just hold on to his registration, he's finished. He'd be 28 when his contract expired, not played in 3 years, everyone will have forgotten him and those that do remember him will remember him as the worst egg in all of football. They might put in a pisstake £112m bid or something just because they know we won't accept it. I think they would probably rather go a different route now, I hate to say it, but Wissa would make more sense.
