christ
At the time I genuinely just assumed we were shithousing so we weren’t down to 9 men at the corner kick.

ExiledGeordie
If it was for concussion he definitely misses West Ham. I’m assuming it was confirmed as that?
Scotty66
The ref went over to spoke to Howe and was pointing to his head. Would imagine he was saying its a concussion injury and Howe needs to take him off? Never really seen a ref do that before though.

Seemed to me as if he was telling Howe to keep his head, but I know Eff all
1964
It looked like he was saying its a head injury, I reckon he misses the weekend game, the negative publicity would not be something howe wants
Gallowgate Toon
Would be a real shame if he's out. Think it's the perfect time to try the Isak-Wilson 4-2-3-1 with Bruno missing.
Menace
Will be a miss but we still have enough to put West Ham away.

I have a daft theory that the ref had noticed someone on the bench tell Isak to stay down holding his head, and he (the ref) was pissed at our time wasting and basically came over to tell us if we think Isak has a head injury then he is going to have to go off by means of punishment. Because the medical team hadn't even come on the pitch yet to see to him. And the discussion between Howe, Tindall & the ref looked a little animated. huss9
hopefully he wasnt concussed but we took him him off as a precaution
Kanj
The ref can’t determine if someone is concussed he’s no bloody doctor. He can suggest “hey have a look” im sure.
The Prophet
So apparently it depends if a concussion was confirmed. If it was he'll miss Saturday, if we took him off as a precaution and no concussion was confirmed he'll be fine to play.
danny
What happened to him? Must have missed i....... wasnt pissed asleep on the sofa

Then he went down few minutes later again, still with effects of it.

Chicken Dancer
Surely he shouldn't play regardless? I know it's completely different given the hits they take, but read up on Tua Tagovailoa in the NFL. Scary shit.
TRC
Is there no concussion protocol in the PL? I know in the NBA concussion lasts until you can pass the tests required.
The Prophet
There is a concussion protocol, but it only applies if a concussion is diagnosed. It'll depend on the post-match assessment you'd imagine.
Hanshithispantz
At the time I just assumed he was doing it to wind the clock down, we evaporated about 20 minutes of play when we went down to 10 One of those games people see live on Sky and claim we do it every week from the the first whistle. gbandit
He did get absolutely laced in the head around the temple, wouldn’t be that surprised if he was ruled out because of the protocol. Hope not but at least it’s putting the players’ well-being first
sushimonster85
Imagine the club will know either way by now. We probably won't get an idea till Howe's press conference. Unlike normal injuries it's not one he can play close to the chest. Either he has a concussion, and therefore the protocol keeps him out of Saturday, or he doesn't in which case he's available. My own take is, it's a positive sign we was allowed to walk around the pitch at the end. Concussions are treated as serious business (rightfully) these days, I feel if the medical staff thought there was a chance he was concussed they'd have had in the training room. If there was no loss/clouding of consciousness I imagine it is these assessments which will determine whether or not he was concussed.
petenufc1985
NUFC.com seem to think he won't be available, can't we just pretend he came off for another reason? Hopefully we get round it somehow.
