Hope we tie him down nice and early to avoid all of this type of nonsense.

F365 is the absolute pits. A Man Utd/“bIG 4” content farm perpetually perplexed by its own existence as a platform that both rails against “football capitalism” and finds succour in it. Their moral crusades might be more coherent and palatable if they also weren’t part of the “media” they so virtuously “watch” for us. They’d also sound more intelligible if they’d take the crayons out of their mouths when they speak.

As long as we can match Isaks ambitons of playing at the highest level, then he's not going anywhere. But no champions league at the end of next season (I think he gives us this summer to improve the squad) then at 26 he'll probably look at moving on, and I wouldn't begrudge him for it (though i'd obviously be gutted). The guy is elite.

Fans of other clubs keep asking me "do you think they will manage to keep him?" I didn't know that turning down bids was such a difficult task to perform. Hopefully Mitchell manages to click the right buttons, and doesn't misclick the "accept bid" one.

Copy URL, open private browsing session, paste and accept all cookies. They're then deleted when you close the session. 

 

On desktop I use a cookie whitelist extension where even in 'standard' browsing only websites I've whitelisted (like this one to remember logins) are able to store cookies, everything else I just click 'accept' and it deletes them all anyway

I do kind of get his point but to include Man United in that list of teams is absolutely outrageous. It's almost as daft as when the media were linking Isak with Spurs .

Qualify for the CL and the only risks are Bayern, PSG, Madrid, Barca, Man City and maybe Liverpool. A good few of those aren’t interested in a striker this summer.

 

Man Utd and Arsenal are utterly deluded. Arsenal fans don’t seem to realise they’ve blown it, Man City will be back next year and they’ll be back to 3rd /4th. Man Utd it’s not even worth commenting on. Liverpool probably need a striker but if they also need a RB, CB and LW they won’t be able to afford Isak.

 

Get CL and it should be ok for another year at least.

These guys are all stuck in the past.

 

That period when Wenger, Ferguson, Rafa, Mourinho were kind of the initial wave of top managers from abroad and everyone else was still hiring the likes of Pardew, Pulis, Allardyce, Bruce, O'Neil etc are over. 

 

That would have been such a huge pull and advantage. Now someone like Iraola is at Bournemouth.

 

If we are able to offer Isak a competitive salary I don't see him pushing to join another Prem club.

 

He's just won a trophy playing in a side that beat Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool on the way there.

 

If he's ever tempted by a club it will be by a Barcelona.

I can see Liverpool being more in the pack next season. 

 

If we make CL and are able to improve this summer then in terms of English teams I'd say only City would be measurably ahead of us in "chances to win trophies" and they've got Haaland. 

 

So apart from your Real Madrid's and the like I don't think we've got much to worry about at all.

But as you say, it's a different day and era. The top 6 no longer exist in terms of on-the-pitch success. After Leicester won the PL the top 6 monopolised the CL places for 7-8 years straight. In that period, moving to any of the top 6 clubs was a genuine step up for footballing reasons. We will have a 3rd season in a row where a non-top 6 club will qualify for the CL again. Us doing so for the second time in 3 years. The only PL clubs that are worth moving from us need to be title challengers, the top 3 of the previous 2 seasons.

I'd be annoyed if we don't price him out of a move basically. He has three years left - we can absolutely afford to keep him another year without seeing any drop in value.

 

If no new deal is signed then you have to consider it next year probably, but not now.

If the current top 3 (City not Forest) put up the money Isak would go. None of them will imo.
