Donut
Quality assist for Tonali. He is so good on the ball. Højlund could never.
NobbySolano
He is obviously class but I was disappointed by him on the first Barnes goal. He was ahead/next to Barnes at the time the ball was played out to Murphy. That's his goal to put away but Barnes wanted it more. Looking at the replay. Not his best moment. His pass to Tonali was perfect however. Seems like tactically we wanted him to draw the center backs out and that's part of him playing a bit deeper than usual

As he is so good elsewhere and is better than just a poacher type. But he often hovers about or drops off for a cut back. He rarely attacks the 6 yard box. He did the same earlier in the game after one of Tino’s runs. Just want him to get past last year’s total. Certainly deserves to with how good he has been. I do also think he is a victim of his own success. Similar to a few of our players. Teams often man mark Bruno all game. Double up on Gordon when he plays to stop him cutting in. I think Isak is gettinf the same touch tight, physical treatment. If it means more room for Barnes? Gordon, Murphy and the likes of Tonali running off him. Then it isn’t necessarily a bad thing. joeyt
The assist and goal felt like a basketball move to me. Like Isak was setting Tonali up for an alley oop Our very own Harlem Globetrotters

Expand He regularly drops back when wingers/full backs get to the byline. Ends up marking himself out of it. Watch him in a crowded box and he almost always does it. I’m not saying he doesn’t score tap ins from deflections or get on the end of crosses and I don’t know what instructions they get for their ‘patterns of play’ or whatever they call it. I just notice him often opting for the cut back and not aggressively going at the goal.
The Fountain
Fantastic that we aren't totally relying on him fir goals. That's 8 we've scored since his first half goal v Brentford
Roids
He's greatness is such that he doesn't have to score to be impactful. Sets up the opener with brilliant individual tek. Think back to the two semi final Cup games vs Arsenal, didn't score in either but had the best defensive pairing in the league on skates over both legs. Most importantly, need contributions from everyone and his presence opens up a lot for the likes of Murphy, Gordon, Barnes etc Edited April 14 by Roids

Roids
I was so sure he didn't bag in either, got that dead wrong. Regardless, goes to show how great he played as my memories of his overall performance was that he played incredible despite not scoring.
alexf Posted Wednesday at 15:29 Share Posted Wednesday at 15:29 Yeah agreed he definitely looks like he's been playing inhibited slightly for awhile now. Probably wouldn't have noticed but when he was flying and injury free around those arsenal games you can see the difference in his play. Still good enough to be effective ofcourse and I understand him still playing given the alternatives. But seems obvious Howe was being disingenuous when saying he's 100% fit. Hope he gets back on the goals tonight though.

Yorkie Posted Wednesday at 21:52 Share Posted Wednesday at 21:52 Shout out to this bloke. To have a run of fluffed chances like he's had - particularly that one from Burn's header in the second half - and not be fazed, to the extent that he bends in that absolute pearler, shows great mentality. His crestfallenness at other players scoring is some banter as well. Hopefully that's that and he goes back to scoring millions every game.
