Still a weird transfer.

Not really, he can either be a squad player for us at very low cost, he does well enough to be sold and we make a profit. Or he flops and he cost us very little.

The profile is very much in line with what we go for. Young and British.

What is there to suggest he’s good enough to turn a profit or a squad player?

How many 20-year old fullbacks have only made 7 pro appearances go on to become any good?

The age to experience ratio was always a massive red flag to me. 16-18 is a world away from 20.  Minteh, Kuol I get.  All the lads playing in the U18’s I get. Even if they don’t make it they raise the level.

He’s going to be 24 with less than 60 games under his belt.

I believe his contract is up at the end of the season. I hope he can do well enough to secure himself a new contract at a decent club and a decent level so he can have a good career where he doesn’t have massive money concerns.  Thats where I’m at with this lad.

I saw him once in pre-season and he actually looked quite good in centre mid. He was comfortable on the ball and eager to make things happen.

I assume there's something missing from his game that's prevented him from making more progress. There again, it's very difficult for a young player to come up through the ranks into the first team of a major Premiership club (and I like to think we're in that category now).

I saw that game as well and I thought he looked impressive given he's not a midfielder. I'm assuming the reason he's not had much of a look in is because he has attitude problems and has not taken instruction well.

Well Stuart Pearce springs to mind, had only played semi pro until 21.

Is the wonderkidult injured again or is he now so far out of favour that Eddie won't even consider him during an injury crisis?

Oh yeah!?

Made a timely recovery. Can’t remember what Eddie said was wrong with him now, but he obviously doesn’t particularly rate him either.

Must have had promising news on Schar and Livramento scans to let this promising lad go out on loan :shifty:

Probably so far away in term of quality, it doesnt matter if he stays or goes.
