Any idea what the requirements might be?

I think it’s 75% of international matches over the last year (not sure whether that’s appearances, minutes or whatever).

In reply to an earlier post, there are three immediate possibilities for GK.

He could be given a work permit on the basis of appearances at the WC - I've no doubt he'll come on in every game.

NUFC could apply for a special dispensation on the basis of him being an outstanding youth player.

He could be loaned out to another Euro club.

If either of the first two happen, he could go straight into Eddie's first team squad. If that happens, he won't be fazed - super confident lad with super skills. Gonna be a major star.

Is there any reason why he's not started a game for his Aussie team yet?

I know he's 18 but if he's as good as those say he is surely he starts games

How many games does he need to feature in at the world cup to get a work permit?

There was a hard rule where if they had the points they got in but I'm sure there was also an appeals process where if they were enough of a prospect they may get in.

Would it make a difference his being  an Aussie (Commonwealth citizen) ?

Cant say I've ever found a jock offended by that term

Quite impressive considering I'm married to one may I add

Not massively offended just think it’s unnecessary and on your question I don’t think he played a competitive match for Scotland.

incidentally with that rule I think Scotland are making a huge mistake not calling Anderson in to a nationals league squad to get him nailed down.
