Gallowgate Toon
Think Klopp has lost it, tbh. It's starting to feel like late Wenger with the massive stockpile of attacking midfielders being shunted everywhere. I think Szob can become a pretty decent 8 in time but it's a big ask to come to a new league and an entirely new position.
Kanj
Enzo needs Caciedo and to be in a double pivot with a strong attacking mid with some legs. Chelsea don’t really have that.
AyeDubbleYoo
Harvey Elliott was Liverpool’s best midfielder by miles.
RobsonsWonderland
I know people go on about our extra champions league games but think even the Europa League will but pressure on the Liverpool, Brighton and Villa squads after watching this weekends games. Easier competition but their benches will be impacted as much as ours
Yorkie
I won't leave the house for days if we somehow manage to lose to that Liverpool team at SJP.
Stottie
"Intriguing" perhaps for fans of the Sky Six but pretty shit game with little creativity and it can't have been much more than 1.0 xG per team. Given all the attackers in Liverpool's lineup, that's piss poor. Against Sanchez as well, who's dodgy. Jackson was lively but skied his best chance. Chelsea's other good chance fell to Chilwell. If I were playing them, I'd take that. They were unlucky to lose Nkunku, but I cannot see goals in that team.
Beren
Liverpool have been a bit of a bogey team for Newcastle for ages. Need to sort that in a fortnight.

AyeDubbleYoo
If I didn’t know who the teams were I would have thought they were both just lower mid table battlers really, very little on show. Early days of course.

I wouldn't rule it out after the shambles of the two games last season with them. They're by far the jammiest cunts in the league. Hopefully we just put about 3 past them because you know they'll get a goal or two from some dodgy refereeing.

When I think of our midfield 3, they absolutely are. They're combative, defensive, creative, an engine room. Liverpool's midfield just seems very slung together and almost missing some of those components.

I thought he had a horrible game beside the goal. Better second half when Liverpool were forced back, but in big trouble during 1st half.

Scored 15+ in PL and Serie A goals in 7 seasons. ‘Not very good’. In the right setup he’s a very good player. People talk about Lukaku like he's Shola Ameobi man. It's unbelievable. AyeDubbleYoo
They should’ve played Elliott and Jones probably.
WilliamPS
Liverpool (& Chelsea) will have defensive midfielders by the time Newcastle play them. One will have Caicedo and the other Lavia. Getting entire new midfields to gel will take time though

I don't pertain to know much about the career of Lukaku, but you don't get universally hated by the fans of Chelsea, Inter Milan, Man United and Everton for no reason. He may be a really clinical finisher, but everything that revolves around him just makes trusting him really hard for managers and clubs to do. I really thought Poch would give it a try with him because he's quite a good man manager and I thought he could have got him engaged again. Now with all the fuss in Italy with Inter and Juve it's just a complete mess. He has a massive Saudi offer on the table still. He might just get fed up and go there.
