These are another level.  Even at 2-1, it would’ve taken tremendous luck for Villa to win the tie.

Look more of a team - zero egos under Enrique - lovely blend to this team

PSG are definitely the best team I’ve watched this season, in the 3 games I have. Unbelievably technical, really impressive. Glad this wasn’t the team that rocked up to Gallowgate last October

Fucking hell, the age of that away support. No wonder we didn’t hear them all night. Does Villa Park have an East Stand?

 was hoping someone else saw. Didn’t realise Saga did European aways.

I tell you this, we are winning this thing. There are too many little strokes of luck for it not to happen.

I'm probably the worst gambler ever, however with 10 minutes to go I backed PSG to win by two or more.  Made myself £32.50.

2-1 was a decent result for Villa, 3-1 feels a bit beyond them. Feeling no sympathy at all, must have been nice fun for them pissing about beating teams of farmers and bank managers in the ridiculous new group stages.

Fuck PSG man, they’re a fashion label and significantly responsible for the death of competition in France. Would much rather Villa went through, although must say this particular vintage of the fashion label are good to watch.

Do agree with this but absolutely fuck any Premier League team in Europe apart from Newcastle.

*Unless that team is playing Real Madrid.

** Liverpool and Man United are exempt from this rule.

PSG are immense, probably the most complete side left in the competition. Back down to earth for Villa.

PSG have recruited really well

Seen too many illogical things happen in second legs at this stage - with Real Madrid contributing more than their fair share - to assume the first legs will be the story of the ties....

Except Barcelona - Dortmund, that c*nts done.

I mean, they have an unlimited budget and the best domestic/local talent pool of young players available to recruit from. It is a bit incredulous that is has taken them them over a decade stumble across building an actual football team.

To be fair, the strategy has only recently changed. They spent years spending huge amounts on big names in an attempt to grow the PSG brand, it worked.

They could be a serious problem for the rest of Europe now they have seemingly adjusted their approach.

Marseilles when being bankrolled by Tapie sorted themselves out in a fraction of the time. They'd been knocked out in the EC/CL semis by a handball, lost a final on penalties and won the thing inside about 6years

I don't think it worked, they've not really come close to winning the CL outside of the COVID year tournament. The whole thing has been a bit of a debacle IMO given the resources available.

They've got it right now but a French club with unlimited moneh spending 50 million a pop on Doue, Dembele and Barcola just seems the obvious thing to do really.

When I say it worked, I meant specifically in terms of growing the PSG ‘brand’. On the pitch it clearly didn’t (in CL terms anyway, they have been as dominant as you’d expect domestically), but I also don’t think that on the field success was necessarily their primary goal at the time.

They we signing those players and spending that money to try and do this years ago - this hasn’t been a considered build.  This is more like Perez’s ‘Galacticos’ horseshit at R Madrid a couple of decades ago

Didn't help when they had a player who had cosy dinners with Macron and foreign dignitaries rocking up every week expecting to dictate who he played next to either.
