Even though they've spent bazillions you could understand them finishing 2nd to City, still.

15 points off the top when City are nowhere near is a disgrace and Arteta should be under pressure.

Old post but this is kind of ignoring that they were pretty shit when he took over and he has built them up to where they are now. He shouldn't be under pressure for one down season where they'll likely finish 2nd and got to a CL semi. If it continues to go downhill then he will be under pressure

Does it need to go downhill? 2nd for three consecutive seasons is steady but could well indicate he just doesn't have it in him to get them over the line

Though I will say whilst a vocal minority on social media want him gone he does appear to retain the support of the match going fans but think if next season is trophyless then he'll lose them

The football they play is pretty honking most the while. Certainly a far cry from when they were the moral arbiters of football and how the game should be player, under Wenger.

Watching the highlights back, I got irrationally annoyed by the “Holmesdale” gimps in their white t-shirts. It’s like Wor Flags getting dressed up in matching specially made gear. Weird people.

What's the drama ?

Le Harve scored a 99th minute (panenka) penalty to stay in the league. It moved Reims into the relegation play offs and Strasbourg (Chelsea's feeder club) out of the European spots.

Don't really have any axe to grind with Palace. VAR howler aside, they were worthy winners and reduced City to very few chances. Fair play.

Pardew. That’s it. Apart from that, I don’t hate them.

Genuinely pleased for Palace. Their chairman may be a bellend and their middle class try hard ‘ultras’ cringeworthy in the extreme, but seeing a team for which winning a trophy matters so much is always better than City, Liverpool hoovering up another.

Would I be saying all of this if we hadn’t won the Carabao? Absolutely not. I’d be green with jealousy.

Didn't get to see the final yesterday so held off seeing the result so I could watch the game today - got to say am happy for Palace - seeing their fans going through the range of emotions just made me relive our day at Wembley.  Worthy winners.

Tbf to Arteta there was a period where they were playing really good football, was the best in the league but I agree with Gary Neville that he seemed to change ever since losing that game ag the Etihad

Turned into a wealthy Stoke City since then and they are worse for it

Anyone watching the Everton pre game build up? They've just interviewed Monkey's Heed on the pitch and he's arseholed [emoji38]

Bloke's a proper pisshead man. He was always shitfaced in the town when manager of the mackems.

I was expecting a swear-fest with monkey heed and all the others walking in on the interview off their mash. Disappointed it didn't materialise.

They’ll be nicking the goal posts, nets, corner flags and digging up the turf at final whistle. Meanwhile, in the stands they’ll be unscrewing “their” seat and anything not firmly anchored down.

Be no stadium left for the lasses…

Good riddance to Woodison. Hope Southampton beat the bastards.

It would be rather funny if they did. But they won't! 😁

(Only saying this because what transpires is usually the opposite of what I say.)
