Here's my admission.

I am all for lasses footy at all levels. Think it's great to see the progress it has made in recent years and it's brilliant to hear about young girls getting into sport.

But I have to admit I have not watched a single minute of this tournament and when I do watch women's footy it I find it almost unwatchable. I will happily watch the Northern Alliance but have never been to a live women's game of any form even NUFC.

I know that this isn’t the point you’re making, but I’ve heard it countless times from people who refuse to watch women’s football because the quality isn’t there, yet will gladly pay the same if not more to go and watch non-league football.

I’m. It saying people should forgo non-league football and watch lasses football, but you don’t go to North Shields vs Heaton Stannington and hear people saying ‘It’s shit, it’s nothing like Newcastle United vs Arsenal’. The reason being is that people are able to accept that the difference in class between those levels and treat it almost like a different sport.

If you stop comparing to what you watch on TV between big clubs, then you’ll start to enjoy it.

It’s frustrating as fuck because you automatically think they are going to make the right decision, or have the ability to finish a chance etc, and they don’t, but just think back to Steve Bruce’s NUFC, you’ll be fine.

This second half is decent so far.

Weeeeell, what do you mean by half decent? Half the time I'm shaking my head and the other 50% is me chuckling away.

Not sure if you're interested but I keep getting Chloe Kelly and Alex Greenwood mixed up.

Yeah I actually agree with you here. You have to mentally be able to separate them as different sports to embrace it. I think how invested I am in football in general, and how much I consume, makes this much harder for me. There are lots of other women's sports I will happily watch.

Mind I would say the standard of a Northern League game remains streets ahead of the very top level of the women's game. Not that you should compare them at all but since you made that point.

I should definitely get along to watch NUFC at some point. I think having a team to actually support would definitely help me - as I am pretty indifferent to England in forms anyway.

Who have we got on the bench that can make a difference? I'm not really familiar with any of them tbh.

Might see Beever Jones, Le Tissier or Wubben Moy come on.

I love this perspective because interestingly for the same reason I find it easier to seperate them. All why we love the game
