I want to see the software and how this offside system works.

Something stinks here.

100 iPhones (have you seen them at games at you have attended or seen on TV?) that somehow are never aligned with the goal line.

A casual reminder that the Premier League lost the ball sponsorship of Nike which enabled them to partner up with Adidas who have automated offside thanks to a chip in the ball that can show a conclusive decision faster than a linesman can put his flag up and has been used in the World Cup, Euro’s, and La Liga successfully.

The Premier League opted for a deal with Puma who have no real history of making footballs for elite leagues, which resulted in them having to use a rather untested method for semi-automated offside which includes 100 iPhones positioned at different locations, which never ever seems to be exactly on the goal line, and needs VAR to verify it.

How the frig can a chip in the ball give you automated offside decisions?

Adidas' contribution to semi-automated offside technology (SAOT) involves its connected ball technology, which uses an inertial measurement unit (IMU) sensor within the ball to track its precise position and movement.

This data, combined with optical player tracking from stadium cameras and AI, automatically flags offside alerts to VAR officials, helping them make faster, more accurate decisions

There's only so much you can attribute to incompetence before you have to question if it's just corruption. You can clearly see Penandez's sleeve is offside and by the rules that they've applied themselves to other games, it's offside, you can't even argue against it.

As others have said its probably better for us in the long run if Manchester reds win this but the manner in which they are doing leaves a rancid taste in my mouth.

Players would need to be wearing tech that works with it or the Lino at the very least.

They do, but it also measures where and when contact with a ball was made which helps pinpoint automated frames for the cameras to look at and pinpoint exactly when the ball was played.

They'll be using GPS timestamps for that to align when that happens.
