ramirez Posted Monday at 21:30 Share Posted Monday at 21:30 Just Watched a bit of the draw from this season, basically Ronaldo pressed a random fixture generator for each team starting from pot 1, so we will already know our opponents by time it gets to us lowly pot four dwellers, they didn’t even tell you what order the games are til the following Saturday this year. Definitely going to lack the drama of previous ones.

Worth remembering. Had totally forgot that Lascelles played that game. I actually think we have missed having someone like Jamal as a defensive option. Obviously he is limited on the ball and has his flaws but his athleticism and ability in the air offers something different to our other centre backs. An athletic centre back has to be a priority this summer. Many are not convinced on here but I really like Guehi.
Dr.Spaceman Posted Tuesday at 07:20 Share Posted Tuesday at 07:20 I'll be very surprised if Jamal Lascelles is considered a good Premier League centre back ever again.
LFEE Posted Tuesday at 07:34 Share Posted Tuesday at 07:34 Achievements this season still sinking in. Only now just looked at the table and how close it was Predicted we’d get 18 points from our last 9 games feeling we’d be a point short. Done it with 16 and GD. Go back to what I said about Villa away. Get a point there would’ve made things look and feel completely different going into the last couple of games. Hopefully the fans can see how hard at times to play relaxed when the pressure is really on. Our last 3+ game end of season record not been the best. That obviously applies to the other teams with things to play for. Would loved to of seen if there was much difference come end of season if we hadn’t lost Howe in that crucial period. It really was only that Villa game they could’ve improved their result. Passport expires before end of year so will need to sort that out. Well done NUFC. What a 24/25 season 👏

I agree and was not suggesting that Jamal is the answer. We do need some explosive power and pace at the back though as the Schar/Botman/Burn combo lacks it
KetsbaiaIsBald Posted Tuesday at 09:41 Share Posted Tuesday at 09:41 (edited) What's the easiest way to relive the season, league and cup? I see the playlist on YouTube but the order seems off - Edit1 - Hmm I can't see to share a link to the playlist. It shares a link to the first video. This is what I was trying to sharee that's in the wrong order: https://www.youtube.com/@NUFC/playlists Edit2 - I think I'll do this. On the official site the seem to be in order - https://www.newcastleunited.com/en/video/playlists/gv-C?isExid=true Edit3 - bollox that does not have the cup games in there. I'd like easy way to watch the whole season in order! Edited Tuesday at 09:47 by KetsbaiaIsBald

What a 24/25 season 👏 It's been an amazing effort. We've had two particularly excellent runs of form - six wins in a row post-Brentford and six wins from seven in March/April - which has given us enough grace to prevent our stumbling finish from derailing us. We basically earned the right to have a sloppy end to the season. Every single point and goal is of maximum importance given the photo finish, but I'd argue that the results of particular significance were, given things like timing and opponent: Southampton (h): always crucial to get off to a good start and particularly to do so in adversity Forest (a): inspiring win at a European rival and key to getting the away day monkey off our backs Forest (h): as above, but the key element here was winning from behind and also clinging on. 'Gonna be our year' vibes Brentford (h): lose this and the season easily fizzles out Chelsea (h): absolutely enormous three points on a day where we really stepped up, preventing our shaky finish from being a disastrous one
ponsaelius Posted Tuesday at 10:13 Share Posted Tuesday at 10:13 It's been a bizarre season really because it has felt like we've had a few spells of being really a bit shit. But when we've been good we've put together some ridiculous runs of form.

Won as many times as Arsenal and lost more times than Palace. I don't think much sums it up better than that TBH!
Doctor Zaius Posted Tuesday at 10:19 Share Posted Tuesday at 10:19 Did the CL Draw simulator and got: Home: Barcelona, Leverkusen, Monaco, PSV Away: Bayern, Villareal, Marseille, Ferencvaros Certainly some old foes there. Think we'd qualify from that too.

No idea tbh. Having had a quick look it looks a long way off in its current state but their chairman has said they want their preseason trophy match to be the first test event. Reading between the lines I think they want to move back even if it’s not fully finished to save money. Who knows?!
gbandit Posted Tuesday at 11:06 Share Posted Tuesday at 11:06 Best season of my life, even though from a playing perspective it often wasn’t. But Eddie Howe has surpassed all expectations and has given us what we've craved for a long long time.

Don’t think we’ve ever played if front of a six-figure crowd before (unless it was one of the early cup finals). So if they aren’t opening at full capacity, we’ll wait until the knock-out rounds to go there.

The point at Bournemouth with the Joelinton grab and the shouldered goal in the last minute? Plus the point at Palace where I don't think we had a SoT? It's all about the accumulation of points over the course of the season which is why I'm not utterly devastated by the Everton performance. We had some stinking games but we were also imperious for 4 weeks either side of Xmas and immediately after the Cup win. We earned a buffer and needed all of it come 5pm on Sunday. Fuck it
