Most recent league game before Europa cup final results for English clubs.

I did it for FA Cup finals too. Teams who reach the FA Cup final do well in the league games preceding it.

I figure players will be out to impress and stake a claim in the final.

People seem to have forgotten that Man Utd and Tottenham are 17th and 16th in the league

They’d both be fucking gash vs Villa and Chelsea, whether they had a final to play or not

Stop pissing your pants about everyone else, bask in the rays of being 2 wins away from finishing 2nd in the league

Drink it in, it’s the sweet nectar of positivity. This isn’t the bad days of relegations and humiliations

Take a step back and enjoy the moment lads, rather than fretting over every possible negative permutation

I'll feel sorry for Villa because of the run their on and Forest when were there ourselves mesel like

Not getting 5th on 69p is quite shocking, and quite likely.

Can end up with 4-5teams on 69 points lol.

I think we might only need 2 draws now, not that I want to experience that.

During the match, I heard the commentators say a couple of times that the winner of this game(Chelsea V Us) would have CL Football? How do they figure that out? Did it mean we can't crash down lower than Fifth? Or what would be their rationale for such a statement?

Overhyping it.

It put the winner of it in pole position, and the loser hoping for results to go their way alongside doing their own job.

If I’m reading it right, one more point and both Chelsea and Forest can’t finish above us due to them playing each other last game of the season.

Three more makes Villa finishing above us a miracle.

If you fancied a bit of a safety bet where you could still win a lump and get a CL spot, Skybet have us 7/2 to finish outside of the top 4. Same odds as we are to finish 2nd.

Love this way of thinking, I’m in

3 points and Forest mathematically can’t finish above us.

As you say, it would also take a miracle consider our GD for Villa to overtake us.

Another way of looking at, does the trick for me

Forest need to win both games - one of which is against Chelsea - and we'd need to lose both

Villa need to win both games - and we'd need to win neither

Chelsea need to win at least one game - with a goal swing - if we were to lose both games, both with a goals swing - if we were to draw at least one, both with a goals swing if we were to win one lose one.

Wouldn't want to be in their shoes either

By my calculations 2 draws won't have us finish 2nd ?

My comment was that we're 2 wins away from finishing 2nd. Even if we don't get there, to have 2 games left and be in with a chance of 2nd place is magnificent

A ridiculous thing to be thinking about but I really hope that a) we're sorted after next weekend and/or b) the mackems go out in the week, can't be fucked with that little cunt in Everton's goal dropping a Gordon Banks the day after they've won or lost a playoff final and he can potentially cost us Champions League football and him being/putting himself the centre of attention, the fucking tramp

If Villa lose v Spurs, we're all but guaranteed CL?

No, but we'd just need a point to secure it. The current GD advantage over Chelsea certainly isn't currently 'worth a point'.
