Longstaff is really good.

Apart from that tackle he has been poor.  Just not making himself available when Botman and Lascelles have the ball.

Thought Murphy could have taken that around the keeper rather than tried to lob him.

He's got no confidence whatsoever in front of goal. Tbh he just looks weak all round. The likes of Longstaff could have a future here as a sqaud player but the likes of Murphy and Lewis are even miles short of that.

Our second string is what we have been familiar with pre howe really. It's why I still think we may not finish top 4, a few midfield injuries we get this. Murphy is so bad though, we need a wide attacker and a midfielder this window imo to fix this

Good game in general, but the difference in class between the first teamers and the replacements is glaring. Joelinton, Botman and Longstaff easily the best players, Isak showing he is a threat, but the rest really struggling to string moves together.Murphy and Lewis just don't have the aggression or self belief to play at a club like `Newcastle. The occasion just seems to overwhelm them.

Isak hasn’t been great like. Constantly getting dispossessed.

You can see how talented he is, but he does look a bit off the pace, understandably
