Any bars to recommend near Baker Street? Will be getting tube from there to Wembley. Would be nice to be around other toon fans. Any advice much appreciated.

Went to the Globe every year en route to Wembley usually good craic, if it’s like previous visits there’ll be thousands of us there.

The Globe will be heaving, there's a big Spoons directly opposite but I don't know if they'll have a dress code on

Aye Baker Street is popular en route to Wembley from central London.

Will have to start phoning Newcastle bars/pubs but fear everywhere will be ticketed and too late. Tried Shark earlier.

Any screens been announced over the weekend?

Dream turning into a nightmare

Not sure if it's what you're after but loads of us from the forum are going to a room in a place in town.

Pretty likely I’ll have 3 tickets at Shearer’s available if you want them for Face Value? £5 each.

I don't live too far from there. From what I've seen of other cup days, you won't find it hard to latch onto fellow fans in the area.

As mentioned there is the Globe opposite the Baker Street station, but it will be packed. There is another smaller pub also called the Globe on Lisson Grove (next to Marylebone station). This is also likely to be rammed full, despite its higher prices (specialises in craft ales). A couple of pubs worth seeking out if you want the chance of a seat are the Thornbury Castle and the Chapel (does tend to open up late though). Still suspect they'll be busy on the day. There is a pub on Balcombe Street (between Marylebone and Baker Street) that is good, but it tends to have restricted entry on cup days. Also a couple of places in Marylebone station itself, but always a heavy police presence on such occasions.

You may already know this, but it's a lot quicker going to Wembley with the train from Marylebone (10 minutes) than taking the tube, you just have to watch the frequency timings.

Last time I was in the Globe before an England game, there were people openly pissing on the floor in the middle of the pub. Good luck

Before modern day football ruined everything

Thanks for the advice and taking the time to describe each option. Plan to get to the stadium early but a drink or two, out and about amongst the black and white brethren, feels like a must do  👍

Is there any plans for a N-O group meeting up in London (without tickets for the game) that I could join? I was going to watch it in Kilburn with my mate at a screening but he's now got a ticket in the ballot.

There’s one in Newcastle, which you may have read about. Haven’t heard any specific N-O meet-up plans for the ‘lesser place’, but a number of people have posted ideas for where to watch. Would be nice if there was a recommended venue or someone to link up with, there must be numerous heading there alone. If not follow the black and white shirts and cheer, dance, scream and sing along!

Probably worth starting a thread for it possibly as you’d imagine there will be a few down there without tickets now the ballot is over 🤷‍♂️

I was wondering/hoping the same.
I am a migrated Geordie on the South Coast and heading to London regardless of having a ticket as cannot let the Manc scum think they have a bigger support.
would be great to have a meet up with like minded N-O members

What time do folk reckon the masses will start assembling at Trafalgar Square on the Saturday ? Will definitely be heading there at some point, but some civilised pints around the west end/Covent Garden are on the agenda Saturday afternoon/early evening first.

After a quick check Brits Pub in Minneapolis opens 30 minutes after kickoff. I called them and asked if they would be opening early for the Cup Final and the guy said "I'm sure we will". I'm going to confirm that twice over before missing the first 30 minutes after kickoff. That's a non starter.

It says they open early for selected sporting events including lots of Rugby matches so I would imagine they will open for the League Cup Final.

Booked to go to boxpark, giving it a go when it opens, we've had the white horse booked for a while as well so depending what boxpark is like, we may head there as the fan zone is just outside of it.

Can't wait, despite the nerves kicking in already.
