Lewis Miley: signs six-year contract extension (Official)

Recommended Posts

Looked really nice and composed when he played and did well for the assist.

I would like us to have players like him start more often, we have a long season and we can't start the same three every game, today felt like it made sense to rest the Brazilians with all their traveling and give others a chance.

Light years ahead of Joelinton when he came on. Eddie saying Jo had a knock after international duty - slightly peeved he’s still not trusting Miley in those scenarios.

Didn't Miley also pull out of the U21s injured though?

Howe said post match that Miley hadn't trained for two weeks so he didn't want to risk him from the off.

It’s off the ball where he struggles. I like him but just is what it is.

yes, you can tell he spent most of his youth career playing as a 10. I don't really know why we see him as someone who should play deeper really. There is no aggression to his game.

Final ball is his main skill.

Yeah I saw him a lot as a 10 and I really like him but he’s not good off the ball. Hes a stiff runner and he just can’t compete that way.

Should learn from the mistakes that we did with Anderson.

I trust him a lot more at the moment than Joelinton.  Super tidy in possession and very intelligent.  Deserves some starts now.

We don't play with a 10 which is probably why. Miley lacks a bit of mobility for an 8 as well imo, we could get away with it but Bruno is chronically slow so it will cause issues if they are played together.

I think the sky's the limit for Miley but I'm becoming increasingly sure it doesn't happen for him here because we aren't set up to suit him.
