Man managed/coached incredibly well - might I add. Something folk have been forgetting recently.

I think this is an important point. As a young lad, Eddie has had him over the time he'll have been a massive sponge. No muscle memory to erase, no silly burnt in habits. Just perfectly set to mould into shape.

And it's clear when he plays he's calm, fully aware of his surroundings, and smart enough to make something happen. Of course he's not perfect, who is. But he's football smart, like Hall, and that's a very promising situation. Eddie and Co get credit for this, IMHO.

Game management, IQ. He does what the game asks from him at all times. Man U 94th minute while some of our attackers were faffing about in the corner, Miley was screaming for the pass to whip in it to the penalty box.

i have a sneaky fear he’s on City’s radar, he could play for anyone, he’s that good.

He’s not good enough for City - Ffs

They will have better players in their academy

He’s filled in well at RB and keeps the ball well , offers nothing going forward (as a full back)

Lewis Hall is a proper gem though.

Hopefully the first team action for Miley boosts his confidence and he continues to progress (eventually as a holding midfielder)

Great to see him getting some game time as it will only benefit him long term.

Would love to see him do more with the ball going forward and risking a few passes .

Lets not carried away - We look better with Joelinton back in the 3.

Tonali off the pace at the minute (on the ball) - Continues to work hard off it , but offers nothing with the ball either going forward and doesn’t assist or score.

Needs to rediscover some form / confidence

looks like he is playing with a minor injury or illness

Love him though and he will get back to business, I am sure

tino's injured, blud.

 I know, but I do wonder if there has been some background coaching for this eventuality. You don't just drop into RB at this level from CM with such capability. I don't think.

Miley himself also gets a little credit for it as well.

Why don’t they get picked ahead of him in the England youth set-up then?

I doubt they’re all English, TBF.

I think the way JonBez made the point was a bit extreme. But I still agree. Miley is quality. But he isn’t good enough for Man City. Certainly not yet, anyway.

Fair on the nationality.

But I very much doubt they have anyone in their academy that is currently better than Miley.

Could they have some with the potential to be, which would be a reason they wouldn’t need to sign him? Possibly, but they’d have to be very, very good.

He’s 19 and he’s got almost 50 appearances in the PL. That’s very rare, and speaks volumes to his ability.

No, and I doubt whoever made the original comment was suggesting he was.

If they were interested, it would probably be in a year or two’s time, when he might well be.

Although, if that were the case, I’d be expect us to be pricing him prohibitively, in the same way Palace seem to be doing with Wharton.

Miley has too good an engine to just turn into a holding midfielder. He's tall, athletic and can run all day (for now). Should definitely be a box-to-box type.

Problem is I've seen him been given several different roles that 'he'd be great at' in this thread alone. Could / should he be used to rest the likes of Tonali occasionally, should he rotate RB, should he do both or something different? He just seems really good at all of them which is a great problem to have. Not sure I agree with the he's wasted in RB as Lewis hall started off as a box to box midfielder until tuchell in 2022 moved him to lb and nobody says he's wasted there, we all say he's one off our most valuable players. Interesting problem to have I reckon

And is a good finisher. Don't forget the finishing [emoji38]

he'll be wasted there because he has so much more to offer in dangerous positions, he has goals in him. Same with Hall really, he's capable of a Gareth Bale type progression imo
