It's all a matter of personal opinion though. Personally love local hero and again, as well as "enjoy the game" it's part of match day. It's an anthem. Still popular,. Played at funerals and chosen as ringtones. Love a bit of Lindisfarne but Sam Fender does nowt for me. He's local but that's as far as it goes from my personal point of view. How dare I eh? Better get myself over where I belong on RTG [emoji38].

Hard disagree. Local Hero is a banger and "North London Forever" is the most corny sappy-eyed horseshit football anthem of all time. 

 

I get proper douche chills whenever I see middle-aged Arsenal fans belting it out.

Appreciate I'll be massively in the minority here but I've never really taken much interest in pre match music and I've certainly never needed it to get me "up" for a match.

 

Suppose when I first started going the ground was a crumbling wreck and the PA system wasn't really all that audible anyway but genuinely the first time I even noticed any pre match music must have been when they started playing Simply The Best as the teams came out the tunnel in the very early 90s.

 

Regardless of what they play my complaint would be that it's too loud. Other than important announcements I'd rather the PA system was more like background noise.

I’m sorry but calling Birds of a Feather shit is disrespectful. In line with current forum etiquette I would expect 20 pages of strongly worded posts, lots of shots above and below the belt all culminating in the threat of legal action from Pauline Quirke’s daughter’s nephews friend.

TBH I think it’s more like an identity signal than anything else, that’s the only way I can understand it. People saying that they’re not part of the wokerati and they’re a proud flag shagger. Just trying to support their own team in the culture war.

One birthday in the early 90’s when I was about 13 or 14 I asked my mam & dad if my present that year could be Dorien deflowering me.

 

They got me a brown leather jacket from a shop near the Grainger Market instead.
