Everton vs. Newcastle United: 27/04/23 @ 19:45 (BT Sport)

We need to be on it today man.

They have all their energetic midfielders back and so we have to move the ball quickly in midfield. Bit worried about Longstaff and Willock, hope they're ready to go.

And of course they have Calvert-Lewin back today too.

This could be a tough edgy game. Dyce is going to make it very direct and ugly.

Ahh... would have liked to see Isak from the start.

Suprised to see Burn on the bench. Surely this is one of the few matchups he makes sense in as Everton will play long balls all day and look for Free kicks and corners. Could have used his height.

Ah well in Eddie we trust

Need to keep it a flowing football game rather than a succession of set pieces and a physical battle. They'll pack the CM and try and control things from there and I think we'll miss Joelinton in the thick of it tonight. We've got the quality to hurt them but the first 20 mins is vital away from home, shut those cunts up asap then score first. I think we'll edge it 2-1 but it won't be easy. Strong sense of after the lord mayor's show type of vibe tbph.

Burn might as well be a foot shorter for how well he uses it, to be fair.

Very unlike EH to bench "form" players (Isak and Murphy) and also surprised at the Targett inclusion, would have thought a home game instead of a white hot away game would be better but EH knows more than anyone. Let's smash these horrible fuckers into the Championship!

Home games are key...away is gravy.

N-O in the last month: "for the love of god put Burn out of his misery / where the fuck is Targett?"

<Targett starts>

N-O: "not sure about Targett here ... sitting Burn is a mistake"

N-O three hours from now: "Last time I doubt Eddie"

N-O on Sunday: "Not sure about this XI"

Miggy is an arguably upgrade on Murphy.

Targett is an arguable upgrade on Burn.

Wilson is a slight downgrade on Isak but he's in great form.

I would have thought Burn would start in a game where we will need big lads to combat their route one/set piece stuff mind, but not going to argue with Howe, he generally calls it right.
