It's mad how the pace of the game looks 100x faster in person or on the pitch-side camera than it does from the regular camera angle in the stands.

I remember when I got my first car (1990 mini cooper) after having to get the bus everywhere for years. Going 40mph in a tiny box a few inches away from the road feels like you're going 100mph.

The sort of double ‘go on….’ when it goes through to Murphy and then when it is on its way through to Tonali. Before the massive, collective inhalation of breath all around SJP. Before the ball goes in and everyone goes bananas.

Absolutely class.

Gutted I was at work for the match. We had it on the radio, and the poor fella next to me nearly shit himself when I shouted "get in".

He's just mint. Comes across as a really good person and loves it here from that behind the scenes video too

He is mint - so pleased he seems to have really settled here.

I’ve not been this invested in a player since Hatem.

Pretty much my thoughts on the matter.

Hatem will always be my GOAT, but this lad isn’t far behind.

It’s an aesthetic thing. He’s in that very rare company of players who are just beautiful to watch.

Still can't believe a player of his calibre plays for us ffs. 😂

Normally you see a player like Tonali and think he would improve our team no end. For the first time supporting Newcastle, I can honestly say I would take our midfield over any others in the league.

Agreed. I would like us to be able to hold onto the ball and control the ball better at times though.

Having Isak fully fit and an upgrade on Murphy will solve that issue. We could also rotate Joelinton out for a playmaker if teams play the low block against us and we have struggled to break them down. Who that might be? Hopefully Paul Mitchell will find the right player.

I think he is our most important player now. If he plays well we aren’t going to lose the midfield battle and he plays well 9 games out of 10.

The intelligence and game management he has at times is magnificent.  Tends to calm things down, but in a typical Italian way, knows when/how to be a bastard too.  Love the lad.

Would really like to see him and Bruno in a double pivot with an attacking midfielder in front of them. I like the thought of their progressive passing as well as more support for Isak from a more central area.  Not necessarily a tiny ten. But a more attacking option slightly ahead of them.

You can sort of see it when we play the system we did today. At least some signs.

Another big game performance along with Bruno I thought. The problems were ahead of them, our forward players just couldn't offer enough bullets.
