He’s a strange lad. Love him as a player when he’s on form - probably the best engine of any player ive ever seen wearing the shirt - but emotionally he’s always been a bit distant hasn’t he?

I get that everyone is different and not everyone wears their heart on their sleeve like Bruno but if he was to turn around in summer and tell us all he’s leaving then I really wouldn’t be surprised.

That being said I think there was a fair bit in that moment with Eddie last night - relief on both sides. He might stay, he might go - I’ve enjoyed him immensely whilst he’s been here but if we can get big money for him and actually invest wisely I won’t be beside myself.

It might just be that he has really enjoyed playing for Newcastle but wouldn't mind doubling his wages at one of the cartel clubs. Probably the case for all our best players tbh.

If he does go, hopefully it will be on good terms and he will leave with our thanks. I want to be able to look back fondly on his contributions to our club.

I don't think I can be doing with hating another of our former players like I do with the Rat. Especially, after what these guys have given us since the takeover.

I think Tonali likes being here, appreciates the fans and gets on with the team. I also think he would be happy to go in Summer if a certain number of clubs come in for him.

Key period for him now, realistically target is finish 7th and have a good Champs League run and try and win FA Cup. Plenty to play for. We need Tonali on form for rest of season. Hopefully last night kicks him on.

Unfortunately this is something we have to accept unless something changes with the SCR coming in place next season. We just have to make sure we get better at buying and selling....and ffs get the players in earlier and stop dicking about like we did with Trafford and Ekitike.

I don’t dread them leaving but I don’t like assuming they’re leaving either.

Long as he goes the right way, i.e. give us some notice, no striking or toys out of the pram, I wouldn't hold anything against him for going.  He hasn't seemed particularly attached to us and I don't feel particularly attached to him.  He's a damned good footballer doing a job for my club.  If he goes, he goes.

What's this SCR? Another daft rule to limit our spending?

Skimmed it. I take it that it's worse than PSR?

I'd refer you to the FFP/PSR thread and try and identify the posters who have somewhat of an idea, I've not got a scooby. But we did vote for it I think.

I’m not someone who dreads anyone leaving tbh - but it’s as obvious as the nose on my face what his agent has been up to; and he hasn’t sacked his agent yet …

We voted for it, in the long run yes, it’s worse than PSR as you don’t get allowable losses over a rolling three year period - and if you don’t qualify for Europe the rules are even tighter.  The old rules effectively allowed owners to make up for just over £100m of ‘losses’ (PSR book losses) over the three year period.  There are no allowable book losses going forwards - in fact, spending is capped within income levels.

If only an Italian club could afford him, ideally he gets to his final year and we get our money back, he then gets what he needs too with I guess his missus and baby close to family again.
