Said this from day 1. He left his boyhood club for money. Why are we expecting him to show loyalty if he couldn't show it to the team he supported as a kid? Thanks for the cup, thanks for a couple of thunder bastards and some bulldog like performances, but if you wanna go then you can fuck off. I only want players here who actually wanna be here. Doesn't matter who you are.

My immediate thought was that there is at least a change we have "leaked" that story.

One of the articles yesterday (Mark Douglas I think it was) basically said to expect one more big sale to fund the sort of rebuild we want. We don't want to lose Hall, I'm not convinced the market for Tino is there so that leaves Bruno and Sandro.

At the end of the day if we get good money let him leave. In 3 years he has given us one good season and one poor one, got banned for another and he has been hawing himself about Europe for ages now .

Spurs though [emoji38], says a lot about him if that's where he ends up .

Don't worry lads. Chelsea will swoop in and bid £10m more than any Spurs offer.

Lots of chatter around Easter about one of our top players instructing his agent to get a move to London. I thought it was Tino, looks like its Tonali.

In a proper counter pressing side. He'll be quality. It's no coincidence that he was really good in 24/25. Unfortunately I think he'd be good under De Zerbi for a season or two.

I think Howe completely lost his way tactically last season and it showed with Tonali more than others. His very poor passing is magnified in our side because we simply cannot keep the ball. I'm also not sure where he fits into the team.

If we got good money for him, he can go for me, but I think that about any of our players. It all depends on what direction Howe wants to go in really. If he wants a return to a high intensity press where we won't let teams settle, then surely you'd look to keep Tonali. If he's going to persist with whatever the fuck last season was, you may as well get him peddled.

Can understand Tonali wanting to leave for CL football. Players like him should be in the CL and of course it helps your International career. Unless he's desperate to play in London above all else in his career then I fail to see the attraction of Spurs at the moment. He'll have far better options you'd imagine.

One thing this does highlight is how you can't even afford to have one bad season these days as you become vulnerable and the vultures start circling. Already lost one of our better players and the transfer window has only been open 1 day. Team could look very different come August although that's not necessarily a bad thing if we recruit properly this time.

London is a bigger pull than people realise for Europeans, he’ll have opportunities to get mates/family over with more ease than into ponteland airport.

His bairn was born down there too.

If Longstaff had put that season's work in then fans would've been going off it [emoji38]

Maybe tactical/coaching to a degree or whatever, but Tonali was just about our worst possession midfielder last season. Bruno, Ramsey, and a fully-fit Miley all seemed to often be able to keep the ball fine when pressed without consistently playing stupid blind passes or taking horrendous touches. Not saying they were perfect by any stretch, but levels above Tonali in this regard.

It was noted before he got here that Tonali isn't a great passer, they were never his best stats or traits. It's weird because he does have some fantastic striking technique and can use both feet really well in the right situations, but just seems to lack the brains or touch in tighter spots. He also does have a good first time pass in his locker with play ahead of him but rarely used it.

Just not worth the effort to keep, for me - off-the-field problems, daft agent stuff, a bit position-less, doesn't seem to want to be here.

That summer, those idiot Americans who are sinking us decided that one of Tonali, Maignan or Leao had to be sold. As soon as your offer arrived they had no hesitation in saying "ok".

He had no intention of leaving Milano, not at that moment.

I love sandro his performances in the 24/25  where unbelievable, genuinely couldn't believe he wasn't in the team of the Year that season or nominated for pfa player of the year  that season, he was that good.... I've came to the realisation for months that he was on his way, and while it would be horrible to see him at any other English club, there would be justification for him to move to arsenal, city or man utd.... however spurs would be a real kick in the balls tbh.... would be an indication to me that he maybe knows things aren't right behind the scenes ?

How you enjoying being more like Brighton lads? [emoji38]

Small time as fuck.

Basically our level until we do something about the ground. The shirt deal with Knox has shown the PIF aren’t going to do an Abu Dhabi / Etihad FC and ride roughshod over the rules.

So we’re going more organic with growth. The ground and the youth team are going to be our levers to smash the concrete boots they’ve put on us.

If we dont sign players of the same level of ambition as Isak, Tonali and Co, the white flag of surrender has officially gone up.

Theres simply no sugar coating selling one of our best players to Spurs.

Is it not simply that they can't do that, rather than aren't going to?

Admittedly they could try, and we dont know, maybe they have.

But anything Saudi related/linked is going to be scrutinsed and battered down unlike the deals that Man City et al were/are able t push through.

We're essentially a Palace/Brighton of sorts now, but on a bigger scale :banghead: We'll still have plenty opportunities for the occasional cup (especially the Europa League), but any player who develops into top tear or near enough will have the superleague clubs sniffing around.

A new ground may help improve our situation, but that's at least several years off if it does happen.

The only reason is Spur willing to offer about 200K ppw. Pretty sure if we offered the same salary he would sign the extension immediately

The fact that it's spurs as the front runners has me more pissed off that the thought of him actually leaving. It's a sideways move at the absolute best in terms of on the field. Get that London might be a bigger pull of course, but fuck me. Go to Chelsea instead of you're that arsed. Fucking spurs ffs
