madras
Also strange the bits that are in quotes and those that aren't.

NG32
We literally had no depth when the new owners took over, they have strategically bought younger talent with a aim to coach them into a system we play. This will buy us time in the next couple of seasons to then make more specific marquee signings. Its the right model to follow having watched other clubs being taken over and ridiculous money being spent on players who leave after one or two seasons. gbandit
Fairly sure he’s complimenting Eddie and our approach there
El Prontonise
People really need to take quotes from twitter with a huge pinch of salt until they've actually heard or watched them. I think he's saying that Howe has got the players for his approach but he and others maybe would've expected some big names because of who our owners are. McCormick
If you read his full quotes in the Chronicle they’re anything but complimentary; <paraphrasing> he’s said that besides maybe Tonali we’ve signed players that we could have bought even if we weren’t in the Champions League. All in print so could still be out of context but the general feeling is that him and Neville are underwhelmed by our summer business so far.
The Prophet
I really need to alter my starting position that a large amount of Liverpool fans lack self-awareness, particularly as we have a good'un posting on this board.
Kid Icarus
Nothing quotes really. Although every single season pundits always fall into the same trap of judging signings by what they've already done.

Cronky
I don't think pundits in general have absorbed the realities of our financial position in relation to FFP. They see the wealth of the owners and assume that we're going to do a City or a Chelsea because that's what's happened before in this situation. Our commercial revenue is poor, we can't generate much by player sales, and we've neared the limit of what's allowed by FFP due to our spend over the last two seasons. We still can't compete with the big six when it comes to player salaries, and the so all in all the top targets are beyond us.
The Prophet
With RCB, it'll be interesting to see if we go for a young development player or someone who will immediately come in to compete with or replace Schar.

I sure hope the Andersen deal comes through. At least 5 years left in the lad and able to make an immediate impact.
Yorkie
I expect our first target is a CB now but I wouldn't rule-out us going for a LB if another Livramento is sat there waiting to be pounced upon, at the expense of the higher priority.
The Prophet
I'm probably more comfortable with Targett starting than Lascelles, though unless we're keeping Murphy, we look s bit short of depth on the left side of defence.
BlazeT44
LB or CB I assume. If we get a LB, we can move Burn inside as cover. Not ideal but Rome wasnt built in a day...
The Prophet
Burn is currently first choice LB and second choice LCB. From a pure numbers perspective it isn't ideal

Rumor this morning that West Ham want him to replace Cresswell. But part of me thinks if that was true, they'd have tried 85M + Tierney for Rice...? sushimonster85
Think Arsenal were never going to part with Tierney that early in the window. Now they know what they have it's far more likely.
Gallowgate Toon
With 2 young Brexiteers through the door in succession, it's time for Eddie to dip back into the international market.
