Not saying we would win it but we would be in a race well past Christmas imo. STM
I'll go with a less exciting, domestic based version: Trafford Guehi McAtee Semenyo Calvert-Lewin Still not bad.
AyeDubbleYoo
I honestly don't have a clue, I could really only list PL players with any confidence and there's no way we're signing all our squad from other PL clubs.
pubteam
Hopefully we don’t spend the entire transfer window chasing one player, unsuccessfully.

Thats my fear with someone like Mbuemo. Brentford dont have to sell and he doesnt have a release clause so they can wait all summer and hope to force an auction. We need to do smart early business if possible

If they do then I can see them buying him back and flipping him a week later for £50m+ if the interest in him is there If it's possible. Can they do that? They had option to do that with Lavia and didn’t, so doubt they do it here. Strange club, especially when you put those clauses in and not use them. Adding a buyback clause is just a simple, cost free clause in case they got it wrong. Dunno what’s difficult to grasp about that.
Optimistic Nut
It's fine having a buyback clause but only really means anything if the player actually wants to go back. If Chelsea are going to wave ridiculous money in front of a player, they'll more often than not get their man.
KingArthur
I would guess that most likely we will see some names not mentioned once in this topic, given Mitchell's contacts in Europe. We need so many bodies in, that we have to be clever. Eddie must understand that after what happened last summer.

Lavia moved for more than clause (and they ended up spending money on chasing players of no better quality), and Delap will be same. Even before both, Porro and Luiz both had clauses which they turned down. What level do they expect the players to reach when they’re moving them onto lesser clubs, do well and then move on again, if they’re repeatedly not activating the clauses they put in. Jewel
I dont want Semenyo, at the price he would cost. He's another run merchant. Good athlete, good at transitions and counter-attacks, but doesn't have the guile or technique to unlock a defence. We have a number of those types of players already. I hope we go after someone with a different profile.

Lotus
Delap looks to me like he hasn’t got that next level skill set and touch that you would expect from a striker (hopefully) playing regularly in Europe. Lots of effort and good physicality though.

That’s what reminds me of him. Granted it’s not like looking in a mirror style wise, just elements of his game.
kingxlnc
Trafford / Chevalier Hujisen / Tapsoba / Diomande / Thiaw Angel Gomes / Anguissa (both free agents) Alikouche / Mbeumo (1st choice RW) Dibling / Roony Bardhaji (young potential RW) David / Delap One from each line please
Kimbo
I’m not taking this Delap talk seriously, I can’t see us spending tens of millions on a forward unless they’re also a top RW. Edited April 28 by Kimbo

At 30m I can, but the price means he will have offers from other clubs which he fins more attractive.
